In addition to primary team duties, the Team Trainer supports high engagement, productivity, and retention of New Members by organizing and delivering quality training on their home team. Team Trainers work in partnership with Team Leadership, their location’s Store Trainer, Team Member Services Generalists, and other qualified Team Members. The Team Trainer supports the high-quality, timely completion of New Member Connections for New Members, and supports Global, Regional, and department-specific training, including Operational Learning Pathways, Compliance, Occupational Safety, Food Safety, Product Knowledge, and Customer Service. Acts as a role model, maintaining a positive image and providing customer-obsessed service.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES

• Ensures new and ongoing store and team training programs are successfully delivered and completed.
• Works within training deadlines and goals.
• Coordinates with Team Leaders and the Store Trainer to schedule New Member training during their first four shifts.

The Assistant Director, Corporate and Foundation Research Relations (CFRR), will be a key contributor to the growth of Cornell Tech’s corporate and foundation-sponsored research portfolio.   

 

The Assistant Director will primarily be a resource for faculty and researchers who are seeking to attract funding for initiatives and projects, prioritizing multi-faculty, campus-wide research efforts. In instances where activities lead to industry-related opportunities in other areas within the institution, the Assistant Director, CFFR, will serve as a connector to other departments within Cornell Tech, e.g., External Affairs, Studio, Career Management, Executive Education, Entrepreneurship, Events, Real Estate.

As part of the Research Administration Support Team, this position is Cornell Tech’s principal liaison with corporations and foundations related to research engagements, and is responsible for planning, facilitation, and management of Cornell Tech initiatives with them. This position works closely with faculty and staff to align research and impact activities with corporate and foundation interests. The incumbent must understand and communicate effectively the scientific, technical, educational, financial and human resource aspects of campus programs. The individual helps to identify and implement strategies, activities, communications, and coordinated outreach to enhance corporate/campus partnerships and to cultivate, solicit, and steward these constituencies for support of campus programs. 

The position collaborates with campus leaders in areas including External Affairs and Communications, the Studio Program, Career Management, Alumni Affairs and Development, Executive Education, and the Jacobs Institute to ensure a coordinated, comprehensive approach to interactions with industry/foundations.

In addition to being a key member of the Cornell Tech team, the individual will closely coordinate and collaborate with the Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations at the Bowers Cornell College of Computing and Information Sciences in Ithaca, as there are many industry relationships with shared interest in both entities, as well as similar functions within other Cornell academic units. The incumbent will also work closely with colleagues in Ithaca including the Office of the Vice President for Research and Innovation, and the Division of Alumni Affairs & Development.

The position assists the faculty and staff in corporate proposal development and partners with CFR staff at the university to promote Cornell Tech, develop initiatives, and submit funding proposals.

Position Responsibilities: -40%

• Conduct prospecting research to identify potential industry partners, based on a developed understanding of faculty needs.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and developments as they relate to areas of campus research focus.
• Conduct business development outreach to create connection and partnership opportunities for the campus. Proactively identify and foster new relationships that will assist in furthering the goals of the campus. Coordinate planning and outreach with the External Affairs team to ensure alignment with Cornell Tech’s overall public engagement strategy.
• Promote the campus to corporations and foundations by coupling the research and impact activities on the campus to corporate and foundation interests.
• Partnering with Communications and Marketing team and other appropriate stakeholders on campus to co-develop and maintain marketing and communication channels to promote campus research, including websites, pitch decks, marketing materials, newsletters, etc.
• Work with research and impact center representatives, faculty, the campus directors of communications, the Studio Program, Career Services, the university director of corporate and foundation relations, and campus Alumni and Development staff to ensure a coordinated, comprehensive approach to interactions with industry/foundations.
• Assess and document successful cultivation strategies with specific companies and foundations and plan improvements when necessary.    

Collaborating with Faculty on Partnerships: -30%

• Develop and manage relationships with faculty members and other researchers to cultivate a strong understanding of campus research activity and areas of need.
• Collaborate with faculty and staff on potential sources of industry or foundation partnerships and support.
• Research, develop, and implement best practices and strategies for interaction with corporations and foundations, including communications, program promotion, proposal development, and delivery of affiliate group benefits programs.

The Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFJROTC) is a course of instruction taught for academic credit in high schools by retired officers. The Air Force Instructor is responsible to the Air Force and to the Cleveland Metropolitan School District for all aspects of the operation of the Air Force JROTC unit.

• Officers must have a Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited university
• Must be Air Force JROTC certified through AFJROTC, meet the administrative requirements of the certification process, have a satisfactory interview, and be determined by AFJROTC to meet the criteria outlined above
• Must be retired from the Air Force with at least 20 years of active duty; served last year of active duty as an officer; have been retired for 3 years or less, or be retired National Guard/Reserves who meet the National Defense Authorization Act requirements for retired Guard and Reserve members
