The Assistant Director, Corporate and Foundation Research Relations (CFRR), will be a key contributor to the growth of Cornell Tech’s corporate and foundation-sponsored research portfolio.
The Assistant Director will primarily be a resource for faculty and researchers who are seeking to attract funding for initiatives and projects, prioritizing multi-faculty, campus-wide research efforts. In instances where activities lead to industry-related opportunities in other areas within the institution, the Assistant Director, CFFR, will serve as a connector to other departments within Cornell Tech, e.g., External Affairs, Studio, Career Management, Executive Education, Entrepreneurship, Events, Real Estate.
As part of the Research Administration Support Team, this position is Cornell Tech’s principal liaison with corporations and foundations related to research engagements, and is responsible for planning, facilitation, and management of Cornell Tech initiatives with them. This position works closely with faculty and staff to align research and impact activities with corporate and foundation interests. The incumbent must understand and communicate effectively the scientific, technical, educational, financial and human resource aspects of campus programs. The individual helps to identify and implement strategies, activities, communications, and coordinated outreach to enhance corporate/campus partnerships and to cultivate, solicit, and steward these constituencies for support of campus programs.
The position collaborates with campus leaders in areas including External Affairs and Communications, the Studio Program, Career Management, Alumni Affairs and Development, Executive Education, and the Jacobs Institute to ensure a coordinated, comprehensive approach to interactions with industry/foundations.
In addition to being a key member of the Cornell Tech team, the individual will closely coordinate and collaborate with the Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations at the Bowers Cornell College of Computing and Information Sciences in Ithaca, as there are many industry relationships with shared interest in both entities, as well as similar functions within other Cornell academic units. Key Role:
Leverage expertise and instruction to training audiences on the Indo-Pacific operational environment to inform plans, exercises, operations, and engagements. As the Leadership Training Program (LTP) Coach Lead, maintain responsibility for the organization, direction, coordination, and conduct of quality training to coach, teach, and mentor brigade level commanders, staffs, and subordinate battalion commanders and staffs during each LTP cycle. Lead the team preparation and manage small group instruction focused on individual and collective training in the Military Decision-Making Process (MDMP), estimate procedures, mission command, SOPs for planning, orders preparation, information management, rehearsals, and case studies for the Mission Command and their War Fighting Functions focused on critical thinking and decision making. Use Army doctrine and Live, Virtual, Constructive, and Gaming (LVCG) as a basis for all training, developing practical exercises, decision making battle drill, battle management aids, and case studies to recommend the latest observed tactics, techniques, and procedures to enhance training effectiveness. Assist with recruiting personnel and oversee their integration. Guide the work we do for our clients to enable unit commanders and staffs to prepare for upcoming training rotations.
Basic Qualifications:
10+ years of experience with Army and Joint training doctrine and policy
Experience with integrating Live, Virtual, Constructive, and Gaming (LVCG) training enablers
Experience with using Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
Secret clearance
Bachelor’s degree
Graduate of MEL 4, ILE, or CGSC
Additional Qualifications:
Experience as Brigade XO/S3, Army Service School instructor or as a Combat Training Center (CTC) Observer, Controller, Trainer (OC/T)
Experience as an LTP Brigade or Battalion Coach
Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills
Possession of excellent problem-solving skills
Master’s degree
Graduate of Senior Staff College or School of Advanced Military Studies

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $81,800.00 to $186,000.00 (annualized USD).
