About The Role

At OCS Group, we are recruiting for a Multiskilled Cleaning Operative, reporting to the Soft Services Contract Manager and to be able to operate cleaning equipment and use cleaning materials as required in accordance with Health and Safety requirements. You will be working from Wednesdays to Sundays, 10:00 to 15:00, on a permanent part-time basis; 25 hours per week. Main Duties and Responsibilities :

• Undertake all aspects of general daily cleaning duties including vacuuming, dusting, mopping, and toilet/ washroom facilities in public and private areas.
• Knowledge of the area, local businesses, and landmarks is a must.
• The operative will be representing Equans and Southbank Centre while on duty.
• To be able to handle situations where may be approached by members of the public for various reasons.

Qualifications and Experience :

• Experience in cleaning internal and public areas.
• Expertise in communicating and receiving work instructions over radios and mobile phones.
• Candidates without experience in the cleaning industry are welcome.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with work colleagues and members of the public.

The post holder will be based on 1 site but depending on the individual’s interests, there could be the opportunity to work across other sites.

The clinical responsibility of the post includes ward rounds, outpatient clinics,endoscopy lists and regular departmental meetings.The post is offered over fivedaysand you will be part of the general medical on callrota(currently1:18 but working towards 1:24)and GI bleed on-callrota(currently1:6). We are open to discuss any specific orspecialisedjob plansthat thecandidatesmaydesire, including flexible/less thanfull timeworking. The department strives to achieve a collective work ethos to help tomaintainlong term sustainability to work-life balance.Office space and secretarial support will be available. We are integrated with General Medicine and operate specialist age related (under 75) acute medical wards. We run busy, diverse outpatient clinics based within Newham hospital in gastroenterology and hepatology. Our endoscopy unit performs diagnostic and therapeutic upper gastrointestinal endoscopy and colonoscopy. It is a busy unit that carries out 3000 gastroscopies and 1800 Colonoscopies every year. ERCP is now based at the Royal London Hospital site. We have a reputation for providing excellent endoscopic training and this post is highly sought after by gastroenterology trainees on the NCEL training program. The successful candidate would be expected to participate in the out of hours’ endoscopy and general medical on call rota and training of junior staff.
