Responsibilities
Event Planning and Coordination:
- Collaborate with the sales team to plan and customize events according to their specific requirements.
- Coordinate with various departments to ensure all aspects of an event are organized, including menu selection, staffing, equipment rental, and transportation.
Food Quality Control:
- Work closely with the culinary team to align with client preferences Monitor food to ensure high-quality presentation.
Staff Management and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) Development:
- Hire, train, and supervise catering staff, including servers, captains (delivery and set up team)
- Schedule and allocate resources efficiently based on event requirements.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the catering team to ensure consistency, efficiency, and high-quality service delivery.
- Document and communicate established procedures to all team members and conduct regular training sessions for adherence.
Vendor Management:
- Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of necessary supplies and equipment.
Budgeting and Financial Management:
- Develop and manage budgets for individual events and the overall catering operation.
- Monitor expenses, control costs, and ensure profitability.
Compliance and Safety, Quality Assurance, and Continuous Improvement:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and sanitation standards.
- Address any issues related to health inspections, permits, and licenses.
- Conduct regular audits of catering processes to ensure compliance with SOPs and maintain high standards of service.
- Analyze event outcomes and client feedback to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.
Customer Service and Client Relations:
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.
- Handle client inquiries, concerns, and special requests in a professional manner.
Problem Solving and Crisis Management:
- Address any issues or emergencies that arise during events, ensuring swift resolution and minimal disruption.
Post-Event Evaluation:
- Conduct post-event evaluations to gather feedback from clients and guests, and use this information to make improvements for future events.
Set-Up Conceptualization:
- Creatively conceptualize event set-ups, including table arrangements, decorations, and overall ambiance, in line with client preferences and event themes.
- Collaborate with clients and design teams to bring their vision to life while ensuring logistical feasibility.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Provide strong leadership and mentorship to the catering team, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and facilitate professional development opportunities for team members.
Technology and Systems Management:
- Utilize catering management software to streamline operations, track event details, manage client information, and generate reports for analysis and improvement.
Skills and Experience
- Ideally, a background of at least 3 years in a similar setting would be greatly advantageous.
- Possession of a valid Singapore Class 3 driving license for a Van or Lorry would be a valuable asset.
- Demonstrates exceptional leadership acumen, inspiring and energizing team members toward shared success.
- Exhibits superb communication and presentation abilities, ensuring effective interaction with colleagues
- Displays a knack for creative and strategic thinking, enriching problem-solving capabilities.
- Familiarity with or prior involvement in the F&B industry is highly valued.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, weekends, and even on Public Holidays showcases your dedication.
- Capable of handling relatively heavy loads, a quality pivotal to this role.
