Job Responsibilities:

Project Management Support

• Track project timelines, milestones, and deliverables to ensure timely completion.
• Monitor project progress and report any issues or delays to the research manager.

Budget and Financial Administration

• Assist in the preparation and monitoring of project budgets.
• Track expenditures against budget allocations and provide regular financial reports to the research manager.
• Process invoices and manage requisitions for project-related expenses.

Procurement and Inventory Management

• Coordinate the procurement of equipment, materials, and supplies for research projects.
• Manage bulk purchases and negotiate with suppliers to achieve cost-effective deals.
• Maintain an inventory of research assets and manage the storage of these items in accordance with organizational policies.

Data Management

• Oversee the storage, backup, and archiving of research data to ensure data integrity and compliance with data protection regulations.

Other Duties

• Provide admin support to Research Department.
• Perform other tasks as required by the Research Team.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Educational Administration, Chinese Studies or a closely related field.
• Experience in research administration, particularly within educational or academic settings, is preferred.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Proficient in oral and written in both English and Mandarin, to liaise with Mandarin-speaking associates.
• Proficiency in data management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of financial and procurement processes.

The Senior Research Officer works to the High Commission’s political and economic section. The position will play a key role in monitoring and analysing Singapore’s domestic political and/or economic developments, including issues in the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Working under limited supervision, the Senior Policy and Research Officer will undertake significant research projects and be expected to engage with a wide range of sources. The position is also expected to provide timely and accurate analysis of domestic and regional issues. Research may be presented as written analytical pieces, primary source identification and complex oral briefings to senior staff. As well responding to tasking by the Political and Economic Section, the Senior Policy and Research Officer will be expected to proactively identify issues of interest and concern to better inform the section’s understanding of Singapore and reporting to Canberra.

Job Description

The successful candidate will provide research and administrative support for the various studies within the Office of the Provost (PVO).

The candidate should possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, as he/she will work closely with academics, students, and other administrative executives. The candidate’s proficiency in multitasking and attention to detail will enable him/her to efficiently manage diverse program administrative tasks and projects within specified timelines.

The candidate will report to the director, engaging in a diverse range of responsibilities including, but not limited to:

• Provide research and administrative support for the studies.

• Perform Accounts Receivables functions (Prepares, posts, verifies, and records customer payments and transactions related to accounts receivable).
