What experience do you need?

The Joint Maritime Security Centre (JMSC) is the UK government’s centre of excellence for maritime security. Its mission is to increase awareness and understanding of maritime security threats and enable cross-government coordination to deliver a whole-system response to mitigate them.

JMSC is a multi-agency, fused military-civil organisation with staff drawn from a host of agencies including Border Force, the Royal Navy, Counter Terrorism Policing, National Crime Agency, HM Revenue and Customs, Home Office Intelligence, the Maritime Management Organisation and HM Coast Guard. Job description
The Joint Maritime Security Centre (JMSC) Strategy and Policy (Strat Pol) team form the core enabling function within the JMSC, providing critical services to the Operational elements of the organisation. JMSC Strat Pol is formed of three distinct sub teams:

Security and Data Compliance (S&DC)

The Workforce Planner will work to the Business Resilience Lead within the P&BR Team. Job Description

• Legal Research and Analysis: Research various legal matters relevant to the family office, including estate planning, trust administration, tax laws, real estate transactions, and regulatory compliance. Analyze and summarize legal documents, statutes, and regulations for attorney review.
• Investment and Asset Management Support: Collaborate with the investment team to support the legal aspects of investment and asset management activities. Assist with due diligence on potential investments, review and summarize investment agreements, and coordinate the execution and filing of investment-related documents.
• Legal Documentation and Contract Management: Prepare, review, and revise legal documents, contracts, and agreements, such as confidentiality agreements, employment contracts, and vendor agreements. Assist with contract negotiations and track contract status, deadlines, and renewals. Maintain a contract management system to organize and manage legal documents.
• Compliance and Regulatory Matters: Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and reporting requirements. Assist in preparing and filing regulatory reports, including tax filings, SEC filings, and compliance documentation. To ensure legal and regulatory compliance, help implement and maintain internal policies and procedures.
• Litigation Support: Support managing and organizing legal disputes and litigation matters involving the family office. Assist in document management, discovery requests, and trial preparation. Coordinate with internal teams and external counsel to gather information and facilitate legal proceedings.
• Legal Administration: Manage legal department administrative tasks, including maintaining legal files, calendars, and databases. Handle legal correspondence and facilitate communication between the legal team and internal stakeholders. Coordinate meetings, manage attorney schedules, and assist with travel arrangements.
• Relationship Management: Establish and maintain effective working relationships with external service providers, including attorneys, accountants, and investment professionals. Collaborate with internal teams and external advisors to gather information, coordinate projects, and ensure timely completion of tasks.
• Others: Support in the day-to-day Corporate Secretarial matters for all entities, including liaising with cross-department colleagues, personal assistants of Board Members and key officers, external Corporate Secretarial service providers, government agencies, banks, and auditors. Assist in the smooth operations of annual general meeting, board, and committee meetings, which includes: (pre/post meeting logistics)

Job Requirements

• Degree in Law or related is preferred.
• Applicant have minimum 3 years' prior working experience in legal role, preferably in areas in terms of litigation, legal documentation management (i.e.: drafting / preparation) is a plus.
• Familiar with Equity Trading firm and Cryptocurrency is a plus.

To ensure that medical secretary, support medical secretary and designated admin support annual leave and study leave is scheduled to optimise cost effectiveness and maintain service delivery. To manage issues of discipline, HR, grievance, etc, as appropriate, relating to medical secretaries, support medical secretaries and designated admin support, facilitating resolution at a local level where possible.

Main Responsibilities:

Accurately putting new matters onto our Case Management
System (Proclaim)
Scanning on new incoming post onto the system on a daily
basis
Taking incoming telephone calls and dealing with client
queries/update requests
Weighing and franking mail and ensuring it is sent out on a
daily basis
Managing a spreadsheet of new cases coming in from
different sources
Writing out cheques and dealing with various invoices
Filing cases away into cabinets
Managing stationery and replenishing the same
Making appointments and arrange meetings as appropriate
Undertaking a range of tasks as directed including fee
earner tasks and under close supervision
Maintaining
and developing communication between fee earners, staff and representatives

Qualifications required
A minimum of 5 x GCSEs including English and Maths at grade 9 - 4 / A* - C
