JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

The successful candidate will:

• Design training packages and conduct training for research staff and early childhood practitioners from social science, health and education
• Plan lessons/coaching sessions, instructional design, and assessment activities
• Establish metrics to measure success and impact of training programmes and workshops.
• Organize in-person and online coaching and training sessions
• Prototype new approaches in teaching and learning, anchored on evidence-informed practices

ROLE RQUIREMENTS:

The position of Postdoctoral Fellow - with an emphasis on computational cancer genomics - is immediately available at the Cancer Science Institute of Singapore (a part of National University of Singapore). The Postdoctoral Fellow will work with the laboratories of Professor Ashok Venkitaraman, on a project studying the evolution of cancer genomes during early steps in carcinogenesis, with the long-term aim to develop better methods for early intervention.

The Postdoctoral Fellow will apply existing analytic pipelines and devise new algorithms to explore data derived from multiple DNA sequencing technologies (e.g., Illumina & Nanopore) to resolve cancer genome evolution at the clonal level. We are looking for a Senior Research Associate/ Research Scientist to join the Antibody Engineering team. The job function will be to provide expertise in phage-display based approaches for antibody engineering and discovery. The successful candidate will provide important contributions to a fast-paced team with a cutting-edge technology platform.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design and execute panning strategies using antibody phage display for antibody engineering and discovery
• Construction of antibody phage display libraries for the engineering of antibody attributes
• Develop and execute high-throughput assays for antibody screening and characterization utilizing ELISA and flow cytometry
• Plan and conduct the conversion of phage antibody fragments to recombinant antibodies using standard molecular biology techniques and CHO-based antibody expression
• Adapt new methods to existing procedures and modify current experiments through scientific knowledge and intuition
• Maintain accurate, detailed, and up-to-date records of all laboratory work and experiments in electronic files
• Contribute to the overall safety, operations and organization of the laboratory
• Train and mentor research associates within team and actively participate in team meetings and presentations as needed

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

• BSc/MSc (with 5+ years experience) OR PhD in Biology or a related field, with experience in a Molecular Biology or Immunology research laboratory
• Demonstrated hands-on experience in panning approaches using phage display
• Experienced in antibody-based binding assays (ELISA and flow cytometry)
• Strong experience in molecular biology technologies (cloning and sequencing)
• Fast learner with problem-solving skills, an ability to work independently and present results and thoughts in a clear and timely manner
• Disciplined and well-organized with a positive attitude and ability to work well in a dynamic team environment
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

• Experienced with mammalian cell culture for antibody production including basic antibody purification
• Experience with antibody engineering and antibody affinity maturation
• Industry experience will be a plus

We are looking for a candidate for high-speed analog integrated circuit design. This candidate will contribute to the development of high linearity silicon photonics modulators for 6G and beyond communication systems. This requires the candidate to work closely with the optics team on the electro/optical co-design as well as system integration and validation.

• Perform system level analysis and design, to derive circuit-level design specifications
• Design and tapeout ICs which include state-of-the-art circuit blocks, e.g. wideband linear low-noise amplifier and transimpedance amplifier with a focus on circuits interfacing with silicon photonics elements
• Work together with team to investigate novel circuit/system solutions to create new inventions

Job Requirements

• Qualification & Field of Study: Minimum Bachelor’s degree and above in Electronic Engineering
• Min. Years of Experience: Minimum 2-years of transistor level analog circuit design experience

Other Requirements (e.g. Skills, Competencies)

• Good understanding of CMOS analog IC design methodologies and successful tapeout experience
• Familiar with analog IC design and verification flow
• Industry experience would be a plus
• Familiar with the IC test equipment such as oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, etc.
• Good communication skills (both written and spoken)
• Able to generate high quality scientific publications and patents
• Team player, quick learner and self-driven

The Centre for Water Policy (CWP) has an opening for a Senior Research Fellow, specializing in water policy. The successful candidate will contribute to IES’ mission to advance “fit for purpose” policy design for Singapore, Southeast Asia, Asia and the world. We seek applicants who are specialists in water resources management, and who hold a PhD in policy-related disciplines including applied-economics and behavioural social sciences.

Job Responsibilities

• Design, implement and lead research projects under CWP’s research programmes.
• Oversee research projects under CWP and provide guidance to junior researchers.
• Prepare high quality research papers on topics related to water and sustainability.
• Contribute to grant and institute-level reporting requirements and funding proposals/applications.
• Engage with water focused policy and research communities in Singapore, Asia, and around the world.
• Provide support for IES’s events and outreach activities.

Requirements

• PhD in Social Science, Economics, Environmental Economics, Public Policy, or a related field.
• Excellent quantitative analytical skills with knowledge of econometrics.
• Proficiency in statistical software such as STATA and R.
• Experience in managing research projects, writing project reports, and conducting survey/focus groups.
• Preference for those with good and relevant publication records / working papers.
• Excellent verbal and written English.
• Good time management skills and ability to multi-task effectively.
