Tech skills

You’ll have experience in designing, building, and maintaining automated tests that support database and API testing in an engineering environment. This includes:

What will you do?

Provides direction to ensure compliance to production test specification requirements through development and support of process, plans and procedures.

The Test Engineer coordinates and create test strategies, also develops, and follow up Preventive Maintenance Plans for Test Solutions. Test solutions may be manufacturing defects analyzer (MDA), functional test (FCT), vision test (VT) or support systems.

Comply with the guidelines and regulations of Environmental Health & Safety.

Position Overview

As a Senior Quality Engineer, Advanced Operations, you will be responsible for guiding the new product development and technical teams on the adherence to applicable regulations and internal procedures whilst focusing on manufacturing quality critical attributes for a successful launch of a new product within OC & CC. You will work closely with Advanced Operations, R&D, site manufacturing, procurement, and suppliers where appropriate, ensuring GMP compliance throughout. You will provide leadership as a subject matter expert in, Manufacturing feasibility and capability, Risk Management, inspection & test methods, Statistical Sampling, and quality improvement activities for all NPD projects progressing through the IDEAL stage gate process, resulting in a successful transfer from R&D into full production. You will be responsible for a smooth handover to the plant quality teams, following successful product launch.

Key Responsibilities

Core duties, tasks, and responsibilities expected in the role. This includes the breadth and depth of the responsibilities to assess the level of complexity and impact.

• As the Advance Operations Quality Engineer, provide required deliverables to the new product IDEAL stage gated process in a timely manner for both internal or external manufactured devices.
• Serve as Manufacturing Quality subject matter expert in the introduction and implementation of all New Product. Provide guidance to the teams at each stage of the IDEAL process, challenging the team when necessary to ensure manufacturing quality is not compromised.
• Collaborate with the Design Assurance team through each step of the design transfer process to ensure alignment on product risk assessment and final essential design output (EDO) determination.
• Translate essential design outputs into manufacturing ‘critical to quality’ characteristics (CTQ’s) that must be effectively measured and controlled to confirm acceptable product quality.
• Key stakeholder in identification of appropriate test methods to monitor/measure CTQ performance against strict acceptance criteria.  Support test method development where necessary to ensure accurate determination of product quality, ensuring variable data methods where possible.
• Responsible for providing manufacturing quality guidance on the selection of production and test equipment to ensure product quality, level of test accuracy, and data monitoring capability are at the required specification. Expectation to work with suppliers of equipment including site visits to ensure correct level of quality is built in and achieved.
• Provide vital input and governance to gage R&R and Test Method Validation activities to ensure correct approach is applied to obtain reliable and accurate data.
• Sole Responsibility for assessment and application of effective sampling plans at all stages of validation and final implementation into production to enable appropriate level of inspection of product quality, whilst providing a high degree of confidence.  Act as sampling SME for project teams assisting on FAT/SAT and other process development stages.
• Support Process development team acting as SME for statistical techniques and approach for determining optimum operating window through Design of Experiments and identification of reliable process response data sources.
• Ensure all validation activities are conducted in compliance with procedure whilst providing confidence that the product will consistently meet all quality requirements once in full production.  Write, review, and approve validation documentation as appropriate, including being the responsible author of the Master Validation plan.
• Owner representative of global procedures for Quality Control Procedure & PFMEA risk documents. Responsible for regular review and updates as required, as well as generating both documents for all NPD projects for new product. 
• Recognised Root Cause Analysis, problem solving lead/Facilitator supporting resolution to major product or process issues for new product introduction.
• Support new product supplier quality management working with SQE representative to ensure that manufacturing quality is not impacted through raw material quality issues.
• Work with third party manufacturing partners to ensure require quality management system controls are in place and effective, conducting site visits to ensure compliance is maintained through to product launch and plant handover.
• Responsible for final handover of new product and processes to the plant quality team, ensuring all major concerns are remediated during the final ‘Business as usual’ stage through close monitoring and collaboration with the NPD project team.
• As senior AO QE, you will be expected to work with limited supervision, on more complex projects, and to mentor/coach lower-level team members in all key AO quality disciplines and methodologies.

Key Requirements

• Manufacturing quality experience
• Strong process validation experience and computer systems validation lifecycle (preferred)

• Risk management experience - PFMEA, HA, DFMEA & UFMEA

• Experience in implementing/review of pFMEA. + QCP’s
• Demonstrated ability to act as manufacturing quality SME in business-critical projects, prepared to challenge decisions whilst also motivating cross functional teams and ensuring that deadlines are met.
• Experience in New Product Development supporting implementation of new product from ideation through to launch via adherence to a structured or stage gated control methodology.
• Coaching/Mentoring experience of team members, peers or other.
• Knowledge and experience of statistical software use, preferably MINITAB.
• Strong Interpersonal skills while experience in Cross functional deployment of projects.
• Six Sigma green belt qualified and / or demonstrated ability in the use of quality engineering tools and techniques (quality core tools) and data interpretation.
• A practical working knowledge of implementation of change control.
• Understand complaint handling systems in conjunction with 21 CFR 820 AND 803 as well as ISO 13485 MDSAP knowledge, ISO 9001, GMP Parts 201 and 211

Qualifications/Education

• Degree or equivalent in science, engineering, or related discipline
• Experience in a similar role, preferably within the medical device industry but not essential.
• Knowledge and experience in operations and manufacturing quality.
• Competent in the development and change of key process documentation i.e. Standard Operating Procedures, Process instructions, material specifications etc.
• Knowledge and experience in application of Statistical sampling techniques
• Experience performing risk analysis & management.
• Negotiation, persuasion and influencing skills to achieve objectives.
• Experience of notified body audits and FDA inspections
• Experience in project/process management.
• Confident presentation skills
• Operating in a team environment, working on multiple projects, and changing priorities.
• Lean Principles and/or Six Sigma Green Belt

Working Conditions

The position is located in Haina, Dominican Republic based role working a combination of on-site and remotely dependant on project requirements.  This role may also require visits to suppliers and external manufacturing sites to support the successful implementation of new products.

Purpose Statement: The Quality Engineer leads determination of non-conformance and customer complaints through containment, root cause, corrective action, and audits.  They ensure product compliance to customer specifications and industry standards.

Key Job Accountabilities:

• Compliance:  Ensure products comply with customer specifications, industry standards, regulatory requirements and Plexus standards.  Ensure ABIs comply with specifications and standards.  Approve all changes and deviations from established guidance, including ECOs.  Lead creation and maintenance of the Master Validation Plans, when required; ensure compliance.  Support creation and execution of IQ OQ PQ protocols to ensure compliance with the Master Validation Plan.  Serve as the Plexus lead to support external customer audits and internal audit activities.  Support recertification and surveillance QMS audits.  Lead product-related CAPA discussion and closure.

• Quality Assurance:  Ensure continuous quality compliance during manufacturing operations.  Monitor on-going manufacturing operations to ensure quality issues are quickly addressed; provide quality alerts and lead containment and purges, when required.  Lead the development of the inspection strategy for receiving inspection, pre-ship inspection, and out-of-box-audits.  Ensure Certificates of Compliance are created and maintained, including documentation of deviations.  Ensure creation and maintenance of manufacturing quality history documentation, as required.

• Customer Support:  Serve as the primary customer contact for quality-related issues, including specification inquiries and audits.  Lead response and actions associated with customer quality concerns, including complaints, disclosures, and inquiries.  Engage the Process and/or Product Engineer and other SMEs to address customer quality concerns.  Lead creation of customer defined quality reports.  Lead CAPA development in response to customer request.  Provide feedback and documentation to the customer, as required.

• Manufacturing Readiness:  Create and maintain all required quality guidance for manufacturing readiness, including Quality Plans.  Lead identification and maintenance of customer and industry standard failure modes for inclusion in the Product FMEA.  Support development, execution and maintenance of the Control Plan to ensure compliance with customer specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements and Plexus standards.  Ensure customer specifications are included in training, as required.  Lead quality-related PPQP activities.

• Continuous Improvement:  Lead continuous improvement efforts to improve outgoing yield and customer PPM to reduce Cost of Quality in order to deliver customer excellence and achieve Plexus’ enduring goals.  Lead analysis of quality metric data and identify opportunities to reduce scrap, rework and CRG.   Collaborate with the Process and/or Product Engineer to implement improvements.  Lead CAPA development for repeat or systemic issues; ensure implementation.

Additional Accountabilities:

• Lead initial investigation and disposition decisions for Non-Conforming Material (NCM). 

• Support Receiving Inspection Team requests for clarification on documentation or acceptability requirements.

• Lead determination of Q and R codes.

Education/Experience Qualifications:

• A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required; a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is preferred.

You’ll be part of Global Markets Technology which- consists of a group of specialist engineers that build and deliver services for the Global Markets business – particularly in the area of Foreign Exchange, Money Markets and Interest Rates. As a Senior Test Engineer you’ll be working with the team who is in charge of delivering complex solutions for the Global Markets FX (Foreign Exchange) business by ensuring quality for the WallStreet Trading platform. You will be primarily focused on providing the Foreign Exchange and Money Markets solution components through a combination of manual and automation testing. The role involves ensuring that solutions built and configured by the team are fit for purpose in a highly complex, geographically dispersed, solution. Also involves regular interaction with development teams, including Engineering Managers, as well as Technical Support team members in Sydney and Bangalore.

Role: Quality Control Engineer

The Quality Control Engineer is responsible for ensuring that products meet established quality standards throughout the production process. This role involves conducting inspections, tests, and analyses to identify and resolve quality issues, as well as collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions.

Responsibility & Deliverable:

• Read blueprints, plans, and specifications to understand the requirements of products and services.
• Perform regular quality assessments on all incoming materials from vendors and outgoing products for shipping
