To provide radiographic clinical leadership to research activity within the SW region which includes working with the Academy, imaging network colleagues, Trust staff and the private sector to develop, pilot and introduce software and artificial intelligence products into clinical practice. To be responsible for delivering high quality, effective research and investigations in the field of diagnostic imaging and cancer care, particularly in the development of artificial intelligence, providing and presenting reports and writing articles to the highest professional standards as required. To undertake a lead role in planning, co-coordinating, delivering, developing and evaluating artificial intelligence products in clinical services across the SW region, working with diagnostic imaging staff in multiple sites to deliver improved services to all patients including cancer patients. This is an autonomous and self-directing research role with a requirement to work flexibly to deliver the emerging diagnostic imaging research and AI in imaging agenda. This will include travel to other NHS sites across the region, other regional and national venues requiring either appropriate business car insurance or willingness to travel by public transport. To work with the SW universities and Trusts to develop a comprehensive research development and training offering to all diagnostic imaging and related staff, to be delivered by the SWITA. To proactively promote a culture of learning and the adoption of new technologies across the diagnostic imaging workforce in the SW regions imaging departments. To work collaboratively with health and IT leads across the Trusts as appropriate and promote the role of research and artificial intelligence in diagnostic imaging to all stakeholders. The post holder will also develop strong working relationships with each of the network Trusts research, development and innovation (RD&I) departments to promote and encourage engagement with research across the imaging workforce

Work with other specialist disciplines to streamline patient care and improve access for patients, both within and outside The Christie, ensuring that radiotherapy is carried in accordance to current recommended timescales Participate in the direct clinical management of patients under the direction of the study PI and/or other appropriate interdisciplinary teams members and Trust policy Consent agreed patient groups for treatment and procedures as required in accordance with Trust policy. Ensure accurate and safe delivery of highly complex treatment plans and to act as an expert in the delivery of trials-based treatment techniques. Give information at an appropriate level of understanding to ensure a patient is fully informed along all stages of the patient pathway. Communicate effectively and sensitively with patients and their families/carers by offering support, treatment information, and advice on side effects. Be responsible for the provision of trial related information for the purpose of patient recruitment and consent and ascertain and record sensitive information as required for case report form (CRF) completion. Provide an important point of contact for the patient and carers in regards to their participation in a clinical trial or departmental research, both during and after completion of treatment, ensuring continuity of care. Assess and troubleshoot patient care issues and provide support, advice and referrals where appropriate, particularly in regards to the clinical trials and/or the research patient pathway

Job summary We are seeking an enthusiastic MRI Radiographer to join our dynamic team at Mansfield Centre for Innovation at Imperial College (Hammersmith Hospital Campus). The Mansfield MR Facility has an international reputation for imaging research and brings together scientists, radiographers and clinicians working on cardiovascular, neurological and metabolic projects. The facility is equipped with 2 Siemens MR scanners - a 3T Prisma system for advanced neuro applications and multi-nuclear spectroscopy, and a 1.5T Aera system for cardiovascular, foetal and body imaging. This role requires an experienced MRI radiographer who can provide the highest standards of patient care. Although a background in research would be beneficial it is not essential as this role would provide on-the-job training in research skills. Likewise, although cardiac and advanced neuro imaging experience is desirable, it is not vital as we provide excellent training and development for all levels of experience delivered by our team of radiographers, physicists and scientists. Duties and responsibilities In this role, you will primarily be performing magnetic resonance imaging on subjects taking part in research studies and some clinical NHS patients. You will be required to assist in the day-to-day organisation of scanning sessions and will be encouraged to undertake post-processing and analysis of the MR data. The integrity of our research data underpins the work we do and so it is essential that you are well-organised and have attention to detail. The successful applicant should enjoy setting goals, analytical problem solving and working intensively on imaging projects. This work requires flexibility and an eagerness to learn new techniques so you will need to be adaptable and be committed to continuous professional development. Based at Cobalt Imaging Centre in Cheltenham Gloucestershire you will be responsible for the development and delivery of the MRI Trainee Training Program and other educational programs in accordance with The Charity training and education strategy.

Supporting radiography students from the University of Gloucestershire in MRI, liaison with University teams to ensure a positive student experience.

There is a clinical lead radiographer commitment with this post undertaking MRI scanning sessions at the Imaging Centre and also in the field supporting MRI Trainees in the field on mobiles using a wide range of MRI systems with advanced technologies.

It is estimated that training facilitator and clinical lead responsibilities will be split 80/20. Protected administrative time will be allocated.

This role is considered full time based on 37.5 hours per week across seven days. Flexible working opportunities are available at Cobalt and part time contracts may be considered for exceptional candidates.
