What you will do
You will be responsible for the management of the quality team, overseeing direct examination of product to ensure that quality standards and procedures are met and aligned with legislation, applicable code, and customer specifications. Requiring a high level of attention to detail and technical expertise, you will ensure strict adherence to Johnson Controls’ quality assurance policies, and you will also be responsible for training inspectors, assembly workers, and trades in quality control (QC) procedures, improvements, root cause analysis, and continuing improvement.

Develop annual quality program along with targets and performance indicators needed to achieve goals in alignment with PBU Quality owner.
Directly manage quality supervisors, quality specialists, quality coordinators, and quality auditors.
Ensure that:
Product integrity and quality is being always upheld to QMS
Processes and final inspections are being completed on time and paperwork is filled out.
Inspectors are managing their time appropriately.
Quality/safety/production (operations) are working together as a cohesive team.
Quality manpower coverage in terms of production shift needs is satiated.
Lead and mentor all staff in root cause analysis techniques.
Drive quality-related projects and associated actions to closure across the departments.
Oversee staffing of quality department.
Measure and report on all quality metrics for the site.
Analysis of quality reports reviewing common/reoccurring deficiencies and ensuring effective communication flowing downwards to all plant employees.
Assist in the writing of SOPs.
Tracking of scrap and rework internal to the manufacturing plant.
Effectively promote and improve the quality program for the site via training and growth of personnel and implementation of quality best practices
Manage the NCR process and comply/refine incoming inspection processes for goods entering the plant from vendors/vendor scorecard development.
Perform internal audits to ensure conformity of ISO program.
Promote and advocate quality achievement and performance improvement across the organization.
Organize all inspection documentation papers and online photos provided by inspectors.
Maintain ETL documentation.
Develop and execution of a training program for QC Personnel, ensuring adherence to safety and maintenance of accurate training records.
Provide feedback to management on process improvement.
Work closely with engineering to ensure adherence to client specifications and requirements.
Update customer files as needed if there is a change in the products and/or service needed.
Able to delegate multiple tasks while ensuring that they are completed to the highest level of quality needed.
Collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing to determine root cause and take action on results to ensure continuous product performance.

10+ years of hands-on experience in Quality Management

My name is Jennifer Smith. I am excited to be part of an evolving and growing business. I'm originally from Detroit, MI and have worked in automotive quality almost my entire career, mostly working for Tier 1 companies that supply product to automakers such as GM, Ford, and Honda. I lead the Data Center Solutions/Silent-Aire quality group to refine and develop our processes and systems to solidify our positions as the preferred supplier for data center cooling solutions. I believe strongly that up front quality planning is key to launching successful products and, on the back end, understand that how we manage our customer-facing issues is paramount in dictating customer satisfaction. As the Quality Manager, you will be critical on both sides of this equation and to the overall success of JCI/Silent-Aire.

Purpose Statement: The Quality Engineer leads determination of non-conformance and customer complaints through containment, root cause, corrective action, and audits. They ensure product compliance to customer specifications and industry standards.
Key Job Accountabilities:

What are you responsible for?
Support quality process / system activities within the AVN QMS in compliance with the AV QMS, international standards and regulatory requirements.
Give advice and mentorship to the AVN organization on quality related subjects/processes.

Your Main Tasks And Responsibilities
Overall coordination and follow-up on Exceptions (Non Conformance / Problem Solving)
Overall coordination for Change request, performing level assessment / review and approval
Provides timely reviews/approval of documentation assessment related to AVN processes and quality records
Act as Process Owner for related processes, supporting with guidance in order to keep in compliance with the quality requirements and regulations
Work in partnership with QA Team, Divisional/DC key stakeholders for the implementation of quality requirements within AVN.
Develop and provide training on applicable quality related subjects.
Play a key role in external and internal audits program at AVN (preparation, conduction and resolution)
Lead AVN Q improvement projects & support AVN projects (e.g. integrations), including analyze of the data to identify trends for improvement
Actively support the Quality team in monitoring and to maintain the basic business target and goals
Lead multi-functional communication and team work and promotes proactive quality in actions and behaviors
Ensure compliant documentation and accurate completion of quality records

Know of customer requirements (CSR) and those applicable to ISO 9001, IATF 16949 and ISO14001.
Our requirements:
