Test Engineer

The Opportunity: 

When a user tries new software, they expect it to be intuitive and run smoothly. Functionality, reliability, and user experience are key to successful software development—and that means rigorous testing. That’s why we need you, an experienced test engineer who knows how to thoroughly test software and work with developers to make sure our team releases the best software possible. As a test engineer on our team, you’ll use your experience to work with testers, developers, and engineers to evaluate software developed for DoD. You’ll create a test plan with test cases based on user stories. Using automation to streamline, you’ll generate data and implement the test cases to observe how the software performs, then document the results and communicate defects to the development team so they can start improving the tool.

You Have:

Test Engineer

MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE

The Senior Specialist IT Product Security reports to the Cybersecurity Lead, and works closely with the application development and quality control teams, playing a critical role in the software development lifecycle of our web and mobile applications.

As a Senior Specialist IT Product Security, you demonstrate strong analytical, methodical problem-solving and interpersonal skills, and use these skills to design and implement security test plans and automation, and to support our software development from a security perspective.

The core responsibilities of this role include creating and maintaining modular manual and automated security test plans, executing test scripts, interpreting results, and working with engineering teams to help implement solutions.

You will establish a deep understanding of our applications’ functionality and underlying technology, allowing you to assist with defining acceptance criteria in user stories, and ensure security requirements are covered when testing these user stories.

You will also assist in creating and maintaining cybersecurity documentation, and contribute to threat modeling activities and the creation of data-flow diagrams.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Implement clearly written manual and automated security tests for web applications and mobile applications
• Execute penetration tests against applications, interpret and document results • Identify security weaknesses in applications, specifying methods and entry points that threat actors may use to exploit vulnerabilities or weaknesses
• Work with development and QC team to define acceptance criteria, identify risks, and plan testing coverage for upcoming features/releases.
• Participate in the development and evolution of Threat Models and Data Flow Diagrams.
• Participate in application production troubleshooting and analysis.

F-35 Test Engineer

You’ll support the development of test plans for F-35 flight test and lab calibration tests, including the design, development, and implementation of complex calculations in support of test objectives. You’ll use your experience to work with test facility personnel to maintain test readiness in support of real-time data display and recording, and troubleshoot test data issues before, during, and after test activities. Working with government client, you’ll coordinate with instrumentation and software programming personnel for problem fixes and new installation and development. You’ll analyze recorded and calculated test data and assess for quality prior to release to data end-users. MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE

• Works closely with development/manufacturing/quality engineering/regulatory to establish and ensure compliance and quality for product related risk management documentation.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Experience/Background

• Minimum 2 years
• Preferably in an Implantable Medical device, regulatory environment or pharmaceutical manufacturing. Preferred understanding of complaint management and Health Hazard Assessments for on-market (distributed) product.

Test Engineer, Mid

The Opportunity: 

When a user tries new software, they expect it to be intuitive and run smoothly. Functionality, reliability, and user experience are key to successful software development—and that means rigorous testing. That’s why we need you, an experienced test engineer who knows how to thoroughly test software and work with developers to make sure our team releases the best software possible.

As a test engineer on our team, you’ll use your experience to evaluate software developed to disseminate Space Situational Awareness data to provide collision analysis and warning services to commercial satellite owners and operators. You’ll create a test plan with test cases based on user stories and implement these test cases to observe how the software performs, then document the results and communicate defects to the development team so they can start improving the tool. You’ll automate continuous security and performance testing and monitor the health of the system. This is an opportunity to supercharge your skills by writing test cases against code. You’ll also broaden your experience in system integration and cloud management while sharing your testing experience with your team. You Have: 

• 12+ years of experience in coordinating with a development team, Product Owner, and key technical stakeholders to ensure that requirements and user stories are developed and tested in support of new business features and capabilities

• 12 + years of experience with developing test cases and test scripts for products and systems, executing tests and providing analysis on system reliability and functionality, documenting problems that occur during the testing process, and coordinating  defect correction with development team

• 5+ years of experience with automated testing and tools like Selenium and stress testing using appropriate tools

• 5+ years of experience working in an environment with data-centric software architecting, software systems engineering, microservice architecture, containerization, cloud services, and DevSecOps and agile development

• Experience with using tools such as Jira, Confluence, and ServiceNow for preparing user stories, documenting defects, and tracking until resolution

Position Summary:

Responsible for developing, creating and executing Design Verification Plans (DVP). Work with design group, project leaders, and test assets in a matrixed organization to drive successful project outcomes. 

Position Responsibilities:

• Development of metrics, test methods, procedures, data capture, and reports for new products
• Will be required to conduct testing in addition to advising and supporting the training and  activities of peers within skill set
• Continuous improvement of the DVP process
• Decides on pass/fail criteria of projects
• Design test fixtures using 3D modeling
• Create custom test setups
• Responsible for operating data acquisition systems and using outputs to boost development, test efficiency, and product performance
• Responsible for operation and development of lab test equipment such as a shock dyno, MTS hydraulic system, tensile tester, data acquisition sensors.
• Manages 5 to 10 projects concurrently

• Proficient PC skills required: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, 3D modeling 
• Ability to use Matlab, VB, ladder logic, C++ Java, or any other programming language that would benefit data processing and analysis.

Test Engineer

Key Role:

Test software following a formal testing method using various telephony and networking hardware spanning multiple hardware platforms. Perform baseline, integration, system, and regression level testing in support of research and development efforts. Analyze large log data sets and software test data while documenting results in a clear and concise manner. Create test documents, including test plans, requirements verification traceability matrices, and test summary reports, and provide analysis of test procedures.

Basic Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience as a test engineer developing or executing test scripts and analyzing results, while performing system testing of complex systems
• Experience using and developing scripts in Python and creating regular expressions for searching data sets
• Experience integrating new and old technologies into existing network configurations and test beds
• Experience creating scenarios that support the creation of test cases and analysis of procedures
