Key Responsibilities:

Lead a team of fleet controllers, local drivers, and subcontractors, ensuring adherence to policies and standards.
Provide guidance and support to optimise performance.
Manage all transport operations, including resource allocation and route planning, to meet service agreements and customer needs.
Ensure fleet maintenance and safety compliance.
Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors, ensuring service level adherence.
Ensure compliance with industry regulations and safety standards. Conduct audits to address safety and compliance issues.
Establish KPIs to measure driver performance and transportation efficiency.
Analyze data for operational improvements and ensure it is all entered into Computer Transport Systems
Address operational challenges promptly, resolving conflicts and mitigating issues.
Responsible for transportation spend and contributing to profit objectives, implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality.
Facilitate communication and collaboration among teams for seamless operations.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives, identifying areas for enhancement and implementing best practices. Collaborate with process improvement teams as needed.
Run daily reports for stakeholders within the business

About you:

Previous Transport Manager experience is a must - 5 years experience
Management experience - ideally in a large team environment
3PL Warehouse Experience
Proficiency in transport management systems and route optimisation tools
Advanced computer skills - knowledge in MS Office/WMS/ERP systems would be ideal
Sound analytical and problem-solving skills
Budgeting and cost management skills.
Current Valid LF Forklift License
Current Victorian (or Australian Equivalent) Drivers License
Good communication skills (reading and writing)
Must be available to work 5 days a week

The Role

This is for a full time role with an annual salary between $70,000 to $75,000 plus superannuation and will be based in their office in Mayfield West in NSW.



Responsibilities

Liaising with clients with regards to the costs associated with our services and handling of any client complaints received

Organising maintenance services or repairs of vehicles

Dealing with customer complaints in an ethical manner

Arranging collection and delivery of vehicles and goods

General administration duties including data entry, generating reports, filing/archiving and responding to calls and queries.

Ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations

Oversight of driver fatigue management issues

Account management

Liaising with finance regarding supplier invoice queries

Maintaining and distributing service and repair logs

Maintaining business records and preparing operational statements and reports

Other duties assigned by the Director and reporting to the Director

Ensure all vehicles are maintained and comply with Roadworthiness, OH&S and environment standards

Maintain maximum availability of the fleet, through scheduled servicing and planned preventative maintenance

Ensure all vehicles are maintained to the required maintenance and appearance standards

Assist and contribute in tender and bid submissions for new service contracts

Manage Fleet Maintenance vehicle defect reporting, assess and action all reports and arrange with contractors for vehicles to be repaired

Organise and supervise company and contract drivers so that all freight requirements are completed by the agreed deadlines

Check all employee and contractor run sheets for possible inaccuracies or time delays and manage any discrepancies







Requirements

At least a Diploma or equivalent in the freight and transport industry

At least 4 years of relevant experience in a commercial capacity

At least 4 years of relevant experience in client management skills, especially regarding negotiations and complaint handling

Fundamental knowledge of legislation impacting heavy vehicle fleet operations including WHS, environmental, basic fatigue management and road/transport compliance

Ability to supervise and provide direction and guidance to other employees including the ability to assist in the provision of on-the-job training and induction.

High organisational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy

Capacity to solve issues/problem and find suitable resolutions

Excellent work ethic and ability to strive for goals

The ability to work independently and as part of a team

Able to pass a drug and alcohol test
