POSITION SUMMARY

The (Associate) Lecturer will be required to teach and conduct classes in disciplines relevant to their field of expertise and assist in the academic and administrative, consultative and coordination tasks involved with these courses. Functions associated with the position include presentation of lectures and tutorials, assessment of students and course administration in line with the University’s quality assurance requirements. The Associate Lecturer is also required to undertake research activities in line with the University’s research strategy. It is expected that the (Associate) Lecturer will work under support and guidance to develop expertise in teaching and research with an increasing degree of autonomy.

The (Associate) Lecturer is expected to contribute to the teaching and research efforts of the University, in disciplines related to their field of expertise. Specifically, the (Associate) Lecturer is responsible for carrying out teaching activities within undergraduate programs and for maintaining and advancing their scholarly, research and/or professional capabilities. KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

1. PhD or equivalent relevant Doctoral qualification from a recognised institution.

2. For Associate Lecturer: A Master degree in the relevant discipline; have commenced or enrolled to commence in Doctoral course is preferred.

3. Demonstrated ability to prepare and deliver programs at the undergraduate level, including online delivery, and the ability to produce high-quality curriculum or program materials.

4. Proven proficiency in 2D and 3D Animation, and two or more of the following:

✓ Digital video production

✓ Visual effects & colour grading

5. Ability to undertake course coordination role.

About the position

The Lecturer, Media is expected to contribute to teaching and research in the discipline of Media production (particularly Screen Media) in the School of Media and Communication. They will teach into the Bachelor of Communication (Media) and the Master of Media programs and will also be responsible for maintaining and advancing scholarship, research and industry relationships in the field.

The position offers an opportunity to contribute to the distinctive and collaborative model of Media education at RMIT University, organised around studio teaching and iterative reflective practice. It will particularly suit applicants who have strong screen production industry connections and who are capable of guiding graduates within rapidly changing media environments and technologies.

The Lecturer, Media will be expected to work collaboratively and collegially with fellow academics in the two Media programs, undertaking associated duties such as academic advising and student selection. We are seeking a part time lecturer to teach the course, IN6244 Graph Analysis, Learning, and Applications. The course is offered in the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information's MSc in Information Systems (MSIS) programme. This course provides students with the fundamental knowledge and skills necessary to analyse, learn, and apply graph-based techniques to solve real-world problems. By mastering the principles and applications of graph analysis and learning, students will be well-positioned for future careers in data science, information management, and network analysis.

The preferred candidate should have either experience teaching at the graduate/undergraduate level or relevant industry experience and have knowledge of the topics covered in the course. The course format consists of a three-hour weekly session that comprises lectures, tutorials and/or seminar discussions. Position Description – Associate Professor, Supply Chain Management

• The Associate Professor will provide leadership and foster excellence in teaching and research efforts of the School, within the University, and with the community, professional, commercial and industrial sectors. More specifically, the Associate Professor is responsible for providing original, innovative and distinguished contributions to the School’s programs for maintaining and advancing their scholarly, research and/or professional capabilities relevant to this discipline at a national and international level. The Associate Professor will also teach and make a significant contribution to teaching and learning in the discipline with the aim of improving learning outcomes for students. The Associate Professor will make a significant contribution to the planning and strategic direction of the School, taking on academic leadership roles involving participation in various committees within the School, College and University and external to the University, as appropriate. The Associate Professor may be appointed as Deputy Head of School/Dean for a specific discipline or to provide strategic leadership for learning and teaching or research and scholarship.
