Job Summary

The Associate Category Merchant, General Merchandise works closely with our Category Merchandising team and external partners to lead assigned categories and maximize financial objectives. Specific duties include all aspects of category management, including but not limited to product assortment decisions, pricing and promotional strategies, and managing vendor relationships.

We are investing further in our team and are looking for a General Manager, Tampa Bay. This role will have responsibility for 30+ Tampa Bay locations.

The General Manager will report to the VP & GM, Regional Operations - Freedom Boat Club, and will serve as a key business leader to drive high performance and realization of full market potential, achieve operational excellence, ensure best practice adoption, and develop talent and culture.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute a growth-oriented business plan for the region that focuses on remarkable member experiences, operational excellence, and financial profitability.

About the Role

Responsible for delivering timely, relevant, quality financial reports for AIA PH Group under statutory and regulatory basis with great accuracy to various stakeholders

• Manage the financial reporting processes under statutory/ regulatory reporting basis
• Ensure accurate and timely delivery of required financial reports under statutory/ regulatory reporting basis and calculation of other local reporting KPIs
• Support the monthly and quarterly financial close activities and prepare required financial reports/ disclosure notes/ reporting templates
• Handle booking of required adjustments, if any, under statutory/ regulatory reporting basis
• Lead the external audit process and audit conducted by Insurance Commission and ensure timely resolution of issues raised by auditors
• Monitor financial performance and perform analysis of net profits and other local reporting KPIs in comparison to plan, latest forecast, and prior period
• Handle reporting to management of the financial health and provide insights to improve performance and identify trends and potential problems that may affect the company’s financial health
• Ensure appropriate internal controls over financial reporting processes under statutory/ regulatory reporting basis and other related processes
• Continually assess the local financial reporting processes to improve efficiency and reduce risk, as well as lead/ support the team in implementing the approved enhancements of processes and controls.
• Lead automation initiatives for local financial reporting related processes
• Communicate professionally and effectively with other teams to ensure that financial reports and analysis are accurate, and any issues are resolved on a timely manner
• Performs other responsibilities and duties periodically assigned by supervisor to meet operational and/ or other requirements

• Prepare supporting balance sheet reconciliations for IFRS 17 accounts
• Monitor financial performance and perform analysis of net profits in comparison to plan, latest forecast, and prior period
• Prepare annual budgeting and monthly forecasting for IFRS 17 net profits
• Handle reporting to management of the financial health and provide insights to improve performance and identify trends and potential problems that may affect the company’s financial health
• Ensure appropriate internal controls over financial reporting processes under IFRS 17 reporting basis and provide the required quarterly sign-off on the Financial Controls Self Assessment (FCSA) checklist
• Continually assess the IFRS 17 financial reporting processes to improve efficiency and reduce risk, as well as lead the team in implementing the approved enhancements of processes and controls.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of a highly effective IFRS 17 Education Training program for different stakeholders.
• Handle booking of semi-annual adjustments and requirements for other group reporting requirements
• Communicate professionally and effectively with other teams to ensure that financial reports and analysis are accurate, and any issues are resolved on a timely manner.
• Perform other responsibilities and duties as may be assigned by the immediate manager to meet operational and other requirements.

About the Role

Responsible for providing after-sales support to policy-related administrative processes

Duties / Accountabilities:

• Handle new and renewal policy administration, policy alteration within Company’s service standard;
• Act in accordance with the operation manual or guideline and conform to regulatory compliance;
• Co-ordinate and work with other departments to perform daily policy administrative work;
• Support supervisors to cater for daily operational needs and business requirements as deemed required and necessary;
• Support ad-hoc projects assigned, including system enhancement programs, policy structure setup and policy document revamp; and
• Handle inquiries from internal staff, customer service and business partners.

Requirement

• Diploma graduate or above;
• Minimum 3 years’ prior experience in policy administration will be preferably;
• Basic insurance product and policy administration knowledge
• Able to work under pressure
• Good written and spoken English and Chinese
• Proficiency in PC skills, Word and Excel a must
• Data entry skills including Chinese typing
• Good customer servicing skills
• Attend to details
