Key Responsibilities:

• Overall responsible for all financial reporting, management accounting and timely submission of reports which comply to Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS) for consolidation as well as provide financial analysis for reporting to Board of Directors. 
• Prepare quarterly analytical review, commentary, and prospect to Board of Directors for decision making. 
• Manage group tax matters such as transfer pricing documentations, withholding tax, tax incentives, and tax estimation in compliance with local legislations

Finance & Account (F&A) Team Management

• Manage and develop a high-performing finance and accounting team and effective succession planning across the group.
• Review and fine tune all F&A positions Job Description, in order to be effective and efficient
• Develop leadership capability through coaching and mentoring N-1 to be effective People Managers
• Continuous improvement of team collaboration, internally and externally. 
• Lead, guide and achieve F&A KPIs at departmental and organization level. 

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or preferably with professional accounting qualification (ACCA or equivalent).

• Strong knowledge and experience in financial reporting standards, Bursa Listing requirements, and group accounting practices for Public Listed Companies.

Job Brief:

The Financial Controller functions as the property’s Financial Business Leader. He / She is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Finance Department, like preparation and management of the hotels financial budgets, implementing and overseeing all activities relating to the financial aspects of the hotel in compliance with the local tax laws and also by the hotel’s SOP’s. Additionally, responsible for the financial analysis, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, audit and control, asset and liability reconciliation, working capital and cash control etc. Also, ensure the safekeeping and updating of all legal documentation relating to the financial status of the hotel. To present monthly Financial Statement and Yearly budget to Board of Directors.

2. Presentation and Enforcement

• Responsible for the properties overall accounting and financial management requirements.

3. Checking, Verifying and Analyzing

• Responsible for preparing and reviewing annual budgets, monthly forecasts, operating results.
• Create the annual operating budget for the property and provide analytical support during budget reviews to identify cost saving and productivity opportunities for property managers.
• Analyze financial data and market trends and produce accurate forecasts that enable operations to react to changes in the business; facilitate critique meetings to review information with management team. Provide corporate recipients with forecast information in a timely manner.
• Responsible for verifying all financial reports and ensuring that all transactions are accurate and in compliance with local government regulations.
• Effectively manage communication with owners. Regular dialogue and presentations to owner’s representatives on actual and forecasted financial results. Development and presentation of business cases.
• Build effective working relationship with the rest of the property management team, regional and corporate groups, external customers, partners and auditors. Effectively leverage resources outside of own area.

4. Daily Duties and Standard Task

• Put in place appropriate controls to manage business and financial risks. Ensure a strong accounting & operational control environment to safeguard assets, improve operations and profitability. Ensure compliance with standard and local operating procedures, and local regulations.
• Oversee internal, external, and regulatory audit processes and ensure compliance with SOPs; make sure appropriate corrections are made.
• Able to prepare and submit management reports in a timely manner and also ensuring delivery deadlines.
• Able to effectively implement all accounting policies and procedures.
• Analyze ROI capital projects prior to committing funds and upon completion determine if anticipated results were achieved.
• Reconcile balance sheet and ensure account balances are supported by appropriate supporting documentation in accordance with SOPs.
• Ensure all issues in the balance sheet are disclosed and adjustments are timely.
• Ensure that the P&L is accurate and statements are delivered to appropriate individuals in a timely manner.
• Effectively manage property working capital and cash flow; identify key projects and manage associated capital expenditure funds for product improvement and increased revenue potential.
• Manage through people and reliable system & process, and assign team members and other department managers' clear accountability backed by appropriate authority to accomplish goals.
• Serve as a liaison between corporate, property, and insurance carrier when claims are filed.
• Able to assist proactively with cost control requirements.

5. Finance and Admin / General Matters

• Assists in the building of an efficient and professional team of employees within Finance and Accounting Department.
• Help enhance the team’s business skills. Educate department heads on sales and profit maximization and cost control; provide ongoing analytical decision support & tools to ensure revenue goals are met and opportunities are identified and addressed.
• Monitor and improve hotels operation costs, profitability and manage business risks.
• Ensures property policies are administered fairly and consistently.
• Achieves and exceeds goals including performance goals, budget goals, team goals, etc.
• Oversees internal, external and regulatory audit processes.
• Ensure that all contracts are up to date and that there is reminder system in place for renewal and renegotiation if necessary.
• Conduct regular weekly finance department meetings.
• Ensures employees establish and maintain open, collaborative relationships within their team.
• Participates in the employee performance appraisal process, providing feedback as needed.
• Responsible to ensure disciplinary procedures and documentation are completed according to hotels standards.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field required (completed Intermediate Accounting and one advance accounting course at a minimum), or equivalent.
• Previous Financial Controller experience is preferred, 5 years Hotel/ hospitality industry knowledge preferred.
• Experience managing people preferred.
• Experience in owner relations is preferred.
• Computer literate in Words, Excel, PowerPoint with Hotel Accounts Software likes Sun System, IFCA, SQL

 Asset Management & Business Leadership

• Being product and disease state experts to contribute to the development and execution of medical strategy through the Medical Affairs Plans.

• Defining and maintaining a roster of Scientific Leaders (SLs) and Key Decision Makers (KDMs) in their therapeutic area and interacting with identified SLs and healthcare administrators (KDMs) by exchanging balanced medical / scientific information.

• Consolidate actionable medical insights from the country on scientific gaps, ideas and other topics gathered from Scientific exchange to inform areas of interest, clinical trial programs, development programs and company TA strategy.

• Adapt the Global Medical Goals and Strategies into the country’s context, to support/lead initiatives in local real-world data generation, facilitate scientific communication, educational programs, and other tactics and solutions to improve patient outcomes and enhance access in the country.

• Alert investigators to Company program for Investigator Initiated Study Proposals and to the process for submitting investigator designed proposals for review and approval; encourage and facilitate research publication of studies supported by the company, in strict compliance with global/local guidance.

• Work with GCTO to identify potential investigators for Phase 1, 2 and 3 clinical trials.

• Support execution of and quickly adapt tactical plan to business realities in country.

• Act with ethics & integrity; provide non-promotional, balanced, reliable, and scientific information, follow strictly company standards and local regulations.

• Performing all company business in accordance with company policies and procedures and country regulations

Scientific & Technical Leadership

• The Medical Advisor is responsible for ensuring that they are fully versed in the therapeutic area and up-to-date on: all major studies, both ongoing and completed; product information on company and other companies’ relevant therapies; clinical data and relevant pipeline data to provide the most accurate data to SLs, KDMs and the healthcare community, in a balanced way, to improve patient care.

• Build trust with external scientific community via peer-to-peer scientific exchange, research and educational collaborations, interactions with scientific societies and health organizations, publications, or others.

• Providing on-label medical insights and training to internal colleagues, including information on competitor products, as well as disease states relevant to their therapeutic area.

• Develop and execute country medical educational programs and symposia.

• Lead country advisory boards and group input forums to inform company strategy.

• Communicate both scientific and business needs credibly, appropriately, and effectively across a variety of internal and external stakeholders at all levels.

• Infuse country’s scientific and healthcare environment perspective into Regional Medical Affairs Team.

• Support, collaborate and lead resolution of Regulatory, Reputational (i.e. Public Relations), Compliance and other Asset issues management

• Support and collaborate in the successful management of asset safety or quality issues, i.e. contribute content and strategy in regulatory responses and interactions, risk management planning and implementation
   

Medical Information

• Respond to unsolicited requests for medical, scientific, pipeline, organization product information from SLs or KDMs utilizing appropriate approved scientific, and review/approval of local response documents.

What should you have:

• MD, PhD, PharmD or Pharmacist degree is required;

• 2-3 years in-field customer facing role and experience in the pharmaceutical industry is desired.

• Knowledge of local pharmaceutical industry guidelines, regulatory/reimbursement framework, and clinical research guidelines.

• Strategic thinking, specifically related to asset value proposition, and clinical and value evidence.
