Position Overview:
We are currently seeking an experienced Finance Manager to lead our group financial operations based at our head offices in Leeton Regional Town of New South Wales. The successful candidate will play a vital role in our financial operations, statutory reporting, stakeholder management, amongst others.
Job Description
• Preparation, reconciliation, lodgement, and payment of periodic Business Activity Statements in compliance with financial legislation and accounting standards.
• Preparation, lodgement and payment of Provisional Companies Income tax and finalised Company Income Tax in line with Tax legislation.
• Tax year Company Income tax determination and submission to ATO by due date including correspondence with ATO on all tax matters including but not limited to filling notice of objection of tax assessments, file appeals, making payment arrangements, etc.
• Identify and advise on suitable investment and financial strategies, sources of funds in order maximise company returns.
• Assess and evaluate capex / capital finance projects / proposals and establish the financial status of operations and projects.
• Develop, implement and monitors robust budget process to ensure future organisation including ongoing management support.
• Review of employee payroll files ensure that correct PAYG is withheld, carry out detailed payroll verification to facilitate submission to ATO.
• Prepare and submission of monthly NSW payroll submission including liaising with NSW payroll officials.
• Preparation of all bank requirements i.e. Annual Financial statements preparation and
other financial information in compliance with half-yearly minimum EBITDA.
Preparation and submission of managements accounts
• Leading / directing the preparation of financial reports including forecast of the entity’s financial position i.e. balance sheet, Income statement, variance analysis, analysis of future earnings / income.
• Develop, implement and monitor accounting systems in meeting current and future needs including supervision of all accounting staff.
• Monthly close process, including financial review, monthly journals.
Preparation, General ledger reconciliations, etc
• Prepare/ Validate and analyse accounting records to assess accuracy, completeness and conformance to reporting and accounting standards.
• Treasury management and working capital management including cash -flow resource planning: Preparation of daily cash-flows including weekly/ monthly/ annual forecasts, ensure the liquidity of the company.
Skills and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree / higher qualification and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in financial management / accountant’s role.
• Demonstrated ability to oversee financial operations across multiple entities/group within the transportation sector, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and cash flow management.
• In-depth understanding of the unique financial challenges and regulatory requirements within the transportation industry, including familiarity with fuel costs, maintenance expenses, regulatory compliance, and industry-specific accounting standards.
• Professional membership of CPA.
• Knowledge of MYOB Account Right is essential.
• High levels of integrity, honesty, and accountability
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office, however advanced knowledge will be an
advantage
• Strong customer focus
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Awards/Remuneration: Remuneration of $72k per annum
