Singapore Fashion Council (SFC) is a non-commercial trade Organisation that serves as the catalyst driving the industry’s continuous growth, with a focus on three key areas: Asian Craftsmanship, Sustainability, and Innovation & Technology.

SFC also manages Design Orchard Retail Showcase (DORS) and The Cocoon Space (TCS):
DORS, the retail showcase located at level one of Design Orchard and situated in the centre of Orchard Road, provides a physical retail space for new and emerging designers, at the renowned shopping belt of Singapore. It has the largest collection of locally based designer brands in Singapore.

Career Opportunity:
The fashion sustainability programme was launched on 30 November 2021. As part of this programme, SFC implements initiatives to help enterprises in our sector to grow in sustainability business practices and in capability. This role will provide lots of exposure to work with enterprises and opportunities to learn about the fast-developing space of sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:
- Work with the Sustainability Director and team to execute and track sustainable fashion transformation initiatives and projects, ensuring sound design and management to achieve measurable and impactful targets.
- Work with the Sustainability Director and team to build and design thought leadership programmes for SFC’s in the space of sustainable fashion, ensure these programmes are rooted with SMART impacts. This includes working out associated work plans, budgets, staff, monitoring and reporting of budgets, contracts and key performance indicators, contracting and managing third-party consultants, meeting any audit requirements and managing stakeholder relations, to be delivered in accordance with SFC policies and processes.
- Be the go-to expert related to consultation and advisory of sustainability and ESG: net zero, carbon footprint, water reuse and recycle, chemical discharge, circular economy (zero waste in fashion), sustainable fashion supply chain, regulatory framework and/or sustainability reporting.
- Ensure and secure sustainable funding and revenue streams for Sustainability team.
- Work with the marketing and event teams to develop timely, factual and engaging communications material on sustainable fashion and support communication initiatives on projects and tasks as relevant. This includes but not limited to the preparation of industry-facing reports, the delivery of webinars and events, where deemed necessary, to achieve strategic goals and targets.
- Build and maintain excellent working relations with priority stakeholders for ecosystem transformation on sustainable fashion, including industry associations, companies, nonprofits and government agencies.
- Attend and/or organise workshops, events and meetings as necessary for programmatic success.
- Organise and coordinate meetings and workshops with internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Any other tasks as required by the line manager.
Pre-requisites:
- Degree in business administration, sustainable business, environmental sciences or related fields. Post graduate qualifications is highly regarded.
- Minimum five years’ experience in a relevant field, with proven track record and experience in project management, corporate sustainability, consultation focusing on decarbonisation, circular economy, supply chain and/or sustainability reporting. Working experience in textile or fashion value chain is highly regarded.
- Experience in Southeast Asia / Singapore business context is highly regarded.
- Experience in managing projects, programs at a local level and has capability to scale and run these at a regional and global level.
Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
- Results-focused and a dynamic personality who is solutions-oriented and collaborative.
- Work proactively and effectively with key stakeholders (cross-functional teams and external partners).
- Passionate about sustainability and making a real impact.
- Strong project and resource management skills. Successful fundraising experience is highly desirable.
- Have great organisational skills, attention and dedication to details.
- Ability to think strategically and respond rapidly to changes in business and socio-political landscapes.
