Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Cost Accounting Manager to be in Bukit Minyak, Penang.

Here is a glimpse of what you'll do:

• Directs the development, administration, and standards necessary to maintain financial records & controls in compliances with GAAP and SOX
• Establishes or recommends to management strategies, objectives, and policies for company to improve the overall organizational cost efficiency. Directs preparation of budgets with site operations and prepares necessary supporting documentation and justification.
• Generates & prepares 12 month rolling forecast on quarterly basis.
• Prepares detailed financial analysis and projections by customer/project and site level.
• Month – End Closing Activities – Review & coordinate with personnel from finance department & outside department to meet the month end close deadline. This includes the review of sales & cost analysis, journal entries, and reconciliation of subsidiary ledgers.
• Supports the audit of company accounts (internal & external audits)
• Performs ad-hoc simulation / analysis by customer/project or site level based on the requirement/request from top management or operations personnel’s.
• Oversee the overall cycle count process to ensure accurate methodology / process is followed by site operations. Investigate cycle count variances and work with the inventory management team to resolve issues & performs monthly cycle count audits.
• Analyze trends in cost variances, production volumes, and material usage and implement timely adjustments. Troubleshoot and research unexplained inventory transactions.
• Focus on improvement including all facets of cost accounting, inventory control, variance analysis, gross margin analysis, forecasting & system improvement. Initiate process improvement projects to update transactional, financial, and reporting processes.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

• Functional knowledge, education background, or relevant working experience of 8 - 10 years required.
• Demonstrates functional, technical, and people and/or process management skills as well as customer (external and internal) relationship skills. Demonstrates detailed expertise in complex functional/technical areas or broad breadth of knowledge in multiple areas.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
• Professional Accounting and Six Sigma certification would be added as an advantage.

The Group Reporting team leads Ninja Van’s reporting function for both internal and external reporting purposes. The team provides guidance to all country finance teams on the preparation of our group financial reports, and coordinates the preparation of the group’s statutory audits. The team will also prepare future reports required by the relevant stock exchanges / regulatory bodies once the Group becomes publicly listed, and work closely with our auditors, legal, and investor relations teams to ensure that our public financial reporting is accurate and relevant.

The Senior Group Reporting Accountant will report to the Group Reporting Manager. He/She will be responsible for the timeliness and accuracy of month-end close and reporting activities of the countries that he/she is supporting. Participates in the review of external department deliverables to ensure accuracy and consistency with external filings and internal reports and documents, as well as compliance with rules governing non-IFRS metrics.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates the monthly close of the subsidiaries in the Region which includes but not limited to :
• Reviews of financial information/reports and month-end accounting entries passed by the Local Finance and/or Shared Service Centre
• Ensures timeliness and accuracy of the reports across the Group. Improves the quality of reports and analysis
• Works closely with Local Finance to prepare the Accounts Receivable Monitoring and Collections Report for Management

Requirements

• Min 5 years of working experience. Prior exposure in audit and/or MNC is preferred.
• Proficiency in Excel and/or Gsheet.
• Experience in ERP (SAP / Netsuite / Oracle) will be an added advantage
• Degree in Finance / Accounting or ACCA

The Senior Accounting Manager will manage a set of accounting activities to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, corporate policies and external audits.
