• Research and establish patient eligibility coverage with insurance providers including private individuals and/or government entities. Reverify benefit coverage criteria as needed for claims follow up. Accurately enters and/or updates patient/insurance information into billing system.
• Maintain and continually audit patient files and corresponding documentation necessary to defend third party audits and ensure payer and company compliance.  Accurately enter patient information into the pharmacy system.
• Provide assistance and timely response to all billing customer inquiries via phone or electronic communications. Research and resolve patient billing issues regarding insurance eligibility, coverage, and related benefits.  
• Provide guidance and support to resident or responsible party by running Medicare plan comparisons during open enrollment and special enrollment periods. Proactively review patient profiles, drug regimens and insurance coverage to evaluate options to save resident money.
• Responsible for completion of daily census, admit, discharge, and room changes for the facilities assigned.
• Process patient payments, returns, and credits. Transmit individual credit card payments as needed.
• May pursue payment from delinquent accounts and make payment arrangements.
• Research, identify and organize requested audit documentation in timely manner.
• Perform prescription claims adjudication including communication with insurance companies regarding rejected claims, eligibility, prior authorizations or other issues as needed. Make corrections as needed and rebill claims as necessary.
• Develop knowledge and understanding in pharmacy facility billing requirements (Medicare, Medicaid, Prescription Drug Plans (PDPs) and Third-Party Insurances)
• Develop proficiency in the utilization of pharmacy information systems to meet operational needs and regulatory requirements.  This includes using pharmacy systems to process prior authorizations, resolve rejections, produce various reports as necessary, and complete billing functions.
• Rotate through other departments to gain working/functional knowledge of other department workflows.
• Follow all applicable government regulations including HIPAA.
• Work as a collaborative team member to meet the service goals of the pharmacy.
• Other essential functions and duties may be assigned as needed.

EDUCATION AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Pharmacy Technician license/certification/registration per state requirements; National Certification preferred (PTCB) may be required (pharmacy specific).

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• 1+ years of related experience
• Advanced computer skills; pharmacy information system experience preferred.

As a Trade Specialist (Senior), you will:

For GS-1008-13:

• Serves subject matter expert by performing services relative to interior space design, renovation, and construction to support DOL.
• Advises DOL agency officials and colleagues on space design matters, assisting with maximizing the utilization of space at minimum cost.
• Analyzes, evaluates, and makes recommendations on programming, space planning, equipment, materials, furnishing, contracting, facility operations, aesthetics, privacy requirements, and environmental components.
• Investigates, identifies, plans, coordinates, and documents client needs.
• Analyzes needs and proposes options or specific solutions to design dilemmas, using specialized knowledge of interior construction, building systems, and components, building codes, and industrial standards.
• Provides guidance to contractors by coordinating with multi-discipline engineers and others engaged in the development of design and construction documents, for major renovations of space assigned to the department.
• Complies with laws, regulations, and standards that prescribe ethical conduct and acquisitions, and prevents fraud, waste, and abuse.
• Manages all phases of interior renovation and construction projects from start to finish.
• Negotiates and resolves problems raised by contractors and client agencies that affect projects.
• Manages multi-disciplined furniture reconfigurations, staff movements, installations, and deliveries.
• Coordinates engineering, mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and environmental activities related to space projects and serves as a primary contact and liaison for project teams, customer agencies, and contractors.

• Prepares concept design options utilizing CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software such as AutoCAD and REVIT, for discussion with client agencies.
• Works directly with senior and executive managers and explores options for space renovation and new space.
• Updates floor plans and records utilizing various software including AutoCAD, REVIT, Microsoft Suite, charts, graphs, etc., to maintain a constant appraisal of all space occupied by the department.

The Environmental Protection Specialist:

• Interacts with and provides assistance to multiple diverse stakeholders as well as coordinates and monitors research and demonstration projects that fall into broad categories that relate to air and water quality, greenhouse gas emissions, underwater noise, and safety in maritime transportation
• Provides input on a wide range of domestic and international environmental issues that affect the maritime transportation sector. Issues may include but are not limited to maritime decarbonization, reduction of ship-generated underwater noise, control of aquatic nuisance species, and management of emissions (air and water-borne) from ships.
• As assigned, serves as a liaison to other US government agencies and maritime stakeholders in support of maritime environmental issues and policy.
• Assists project leaders and managers with the development, implementation, and management of research, demonstration, and technical innovation projects in partnership with a diverse range of stakeholders. Assists contracting officer’s representative/agreement officer’s representatives on the monitoring and tracking of progress on META-funded projects.
• Provides input in the development of requests for information, requests for proposals, invitations for bids, cooperative agreements, and other documentation to support acquisitions, research, development, demonstration and innovation projects related to program goals.
• Assists in the development of policies and plans to support the maritime transportation industry in meeting national and international environmental requirements and advises national and international agencies on the special and unique needs of the industry.
• Applies broad basic knowledge of a wide range of scientific principles, techniques, judgment, and originality to assist with resolving key emerging maritime environmental issues within the maritime community.
• Provides, at the direction of the Associate Administrator and/or Office Director, support and policy advice on all matters and initiatives related to environment, compliance, technological advancements, and research and development to keep the Maritime Administrator, Deputy Maritime Administrator, and other senior staff apprised of environmental/technological issues and developments as they affect the commercial U.S.-flag merchant marine and ports.
