Job Description

In the era of rapidly advancing artificial intelligence, the project aims to bridge the gap between human language understanding and mathematical problem formulation. This project leverages the power of large language models to transform natural language data into basic mathematical programming formulations, specifically focusing on linear programming problems (mainly in the field of supply chain and logistical) with restricted variables and constraints.

Qualifications

• Holding a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, or other related Engineering or Science disciplines.

• Background in Natural Language Processing (NLP): Candidates should have some understanding of machine learning principles, particularly in the field of NLP. The candidate should be familiar with transformer architectures, such as BERT, GPT, or T5, and have experience in fine-tuning and training these models on large datasets.

• Proficiency in Mathematical Optimization: Prior exposure to understanding of mathematical optimization techniques, especially linear programming, is essential. The candidate should be proficient in formulating optimization problems, interpreting constraints, and defining objective functions.

• Programming Skills: Strong programming skills are preferred, particularly in languages commonly used in machine learning and NLP, such as Python. Candidates should be adept at libraries and frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face Transformers, and Scikit-learn.

Summary of Role:

The candidate in this role is responsible for planning the supply of spare/maintenance/consumable parts to maintain optimum inventory levels (consumables, spares, etc.) and ensure the efficient running of the center. His other roles are being ISO certified and working on End Users Certifications (EUC).

Essential Responsibilities include:

• Plan and schedule Spare parts requirements based on demand plan/material requirement requests from Fabs.
• Regularly review inventory levels for specific categorization of materials.
• Regular monitoring of critical materials to ensure uninterrupted manufacturing.
• Coordinate with warehouse/logistics to ensure accurate inventory levels and stock availability.
• Publish essential spare parts metrics/KPIs to management on a timely basis.
• Derive the material requirement plan based on the master production schedule to procure and source.
• Good Knowledge of Inventory management.
• Oversee the department R&M/Chemicals, etc. stores – upkeep with house-keepings, periodic cycle counts.
• Maintain the inventory database, ensuring timely and accurate recordings.
• In charge of day-in-day-out logistics operations.
• Coordinate with and on the movement of materials.
• Must work closely with operation teams on the center's logistic needs.
• Ensure to adhere to zero safety requirements.
• Work on continuous improvement program in logistics operations.
• Providing day-to-day operations in FAB production material planning, inventory management, and procurement.
• Planned and monitored production schedule in the high-mix, low-volume environment (HMLV).
• Collaborate across departments in the planning process to plan and purchase materials requirements and meet the production plan effectively.
• Follow through with the orders from the start till delivery and ensure that goods are delivered on time.

Other Responsibilities:

• Perform all activities safely and responsibly and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security (EHS) requirements and programs.
• Support ISO certification and across suppliers' EUC requirements
• Support internal audit program by conducting ISO9001/TS16949 audits, gap analysis, and corrective action implementation
• Research best practices and conduct benchmarking related to QMS processes, methods, and tools
• Based upon the overall Quality System performance, identify critical systems or processes where quality improvements are required, initiate projects or activities to analyze, evaluate and propose solutions to address the problem and improve performance

Requirements:

• Degree in relevant fields with minimum of 2 years of professional experience in procurement, consulting, program management, and supply chain & inventory
• Direct experience in pricing and contract negotiations, supplier relationship management, business strategy, contract manufacturing/outsourcing, and continuous process improvement.
• Communicate complex information clearly and concisely.
• Develop and maintain collaborative business relationships with stakeholders and align ISO/EUC requirements for the program.
• Interact with all levels of the organization.

The Call Center Trainer develops and facilitates classroom training programs under the direct supervision of the department manager. DesCartes Program is looking for 1 RF position in Koopman Operator and Machine Learning

DESCARTES PROGRAM

The DesCartes programme is developing a hybrid AI, combining Learning, Knowledge and Reasoning, which has good properties (need for less resources and data, security, robustness, fairness, respect for privacy, ethics), and demonstrated on industrial applications of the smart city (digital energy, monitoring of structures, air traffic control).

The program brings together 80 permanent researchers (half from France, half from Singapore), with the support of large industrial groups (Thales SG, EDF SG, ESI group, CETIM Matcor, ARIA etc.).

The research will take place mainly in Singapore, at the premises of CNRS@CREATE, with a competitive salary and generous funding for missions.

DESCRIPTION

WP3 aims at supporting the whole Descartes program in order to develop advanced optimization-based solutions in the context of hybrid AI. Any AI system or machine learning algorithm ultimately involves a formulation with an objective or loss function to be minimized. The modelling of the problem as well as the chosen objective function optimization algorithm is crucial to the success of the overall AI task. This is all the more crucial in the context of hybrid AI, which seeks to integrate physics-inspired models with machine learning algorithms. We will address this problem from two complementary angles, namely optimization-based methods and machine learning-based methods.

This sub-project focuses on developing data-driven modelling and control methodologies for dynamical systems, with particular emphasis on the interaction of Koopman operator analysis and machine learning. The Koopman operator approach is a leading framework for data-driven analysis of complex nonlinear dynamical systems. In this framework, a nonlinear dynamical system is represented by an infinite dimensional linear operator that governs the evolution of functions defined on the state-space. This operator provides an equivalent linear representation of the underlying system with all information (e.g., stability, ergodicity, invariant sets, stable/unstable manifolds) being encoded within the operator and its spectrum. Finite-dimensional approximations of this operator then allow one to recover this information numerically, leading to methods for analysis, model reduction, state-estimation and control of high-dimensional systems, relying solely on mature and efficient tools of linear algebra and convex optimization. However, applying Koopman operator analysis to practical problems of high dimensions remains a significant challenge, and modern machine learning offers a promising approach to overcome these issues.

In this project, we will investigate the coupling of machine learning and Koopman operator analysis from several angles, including:

1. Coupling of dictionary learning type of methods to Koopman operator analysis, particular for dynamical systems with temporal inputs (control systems) and parametric dynamical systems. The main challenge here is to develop learning-based methods for invariant subspace identification for such systems.
2. Koopman operator approach for optimization-based control of nonlinear dynamical systems. The main challenge is to preserve convexity of the resulting optimization problem to be solved (e.g., within model predictive control) when applying a Koopman embedding to the control system.
