the role |
we have an incredible opportunity to join our central production unit as a shift engineer. our central production unit produce gyoza and sauces for our entire 160+ uk restaurant estate along with our franchises across the globe! this role is 5 days a week on site in east acton, london
you will be responsible for ensuring you maintain a high standard central food production unit which is industry leading, taking ownership on maintaining all machines across the site including 12 primary machines in high-care, 12 primary machines in frozen/low-care, 3x compressors and pneumatic rig, & number of sundry items including piping, tanks & racking etc but excluding refrigeration
responsibilities |
· ensure all machinery + equipment is operating safely + efficiently during the shift
· rectifying issues + diagnose malfunctions within a timely manner that does not pose risks to product, staff, contractors, visitors or members of the public
· responsibility for contractors on site to ensure all food safety and health & safety procedures are adhered to at all times.
· perform routine maintenance + record in accordance with the maintenance procedure and plan.
· control of spare parts, tools, PPE & equipment
· hygiene & housekeeping with regard to maintenance room and other maintenance and equipment storage areas
· promote best working practice on site including goods in, stores and packing
· ensure health & safety standards are maintained throughout the site + staff are trained on relevant equipment
· establish and maintain a good working relationship with site team at all levels
· stay up to date with industry trends + advancements
· taking on tasks + projects which have been agreed by the production engineer
· proactively recommend improvements to processes + procedures where relevant to improve efficiency + reduce costs
key skills + personal attributes we're looking for:
· ideally experienced in a food production or similar environment, however we are also open to graduates within electrical/mechanical engineering and will support with full training!
· 18th Edition Regs BS7671 qualification is highly desirable
· strong mechanical + electrical knowledge/skills
· flexibility to work rotating shifts or on-call as needed, predominantly monday to friday but on call at weekends where required
· reliable, trustworthy and has self-drive
· good analytical skills and excellent eye for detail
· good resilience + ability to work under pressure
· well organised, calm & level headed, consistent in nature, trustworthy and reliable
· an ability to work proactively with a strong desire for continuous improvement within the operation
