We're Hiring a 3D Reconstruction Research Engineering Intern!

NVIDIA is searching for a world-class intern to join our 3D Reconstruction team, building tools and technologies to help our research teams working at the cutting edge of applying Neural Graphics techniques to create 3D worlds from real world sensor data. Our team works closely with both researchers and Omniverse developers team to enable new 3D Deep Learning methods as well as to bring that work into real world products with applications to simulation, autonomous driving, and robotics. The ideal candidate will be involved in research at the intersection of Machine Learning, Computer Graphics and Computer Vision, with a passion for turning that work into tangible products. With your experience and skills, your work with NVIDIA’s world leading experts will enable contributions to major advancements in 3D reconstruction and it’s applications in industry. GPU deep learning has provided the foundation for machines to learn, perceive, reason and solve problems. The GPU started out as the engine for simulating human imagination, conjuring up the amazing virtual worlds of video games and Hollywood films. Now, NVIDIA's GPU runs deep learning algorithms, simulating human intelligence, and acts as the brain of computers, robots and self-driving cars that can perceive and understand the world. Just as human imagination and intelligence are linked, computer graphics and artificial intelligence come together in our architecture. Two modes of the human brain - two modes of the GPU. This may explain why NVIDIA GPUs are used broadly for deep learning, and NVIDIA is increasingly known as “the AI computing company.”

What you’ll be doing:

• Invent or apply deep learning techniques to the field of 3D and 4D content creation (photogrammetry, NeRF-based techniques, etc.)

• Optimize and improve research techniques to enable production-quality results

• Integrate deep learning based reconstruction rendering techniques with traditional 3D rendering approaches

• Participate in projects to conduct Deep Learning research and publish papers to well-known conferences (ex.SIGGRAPH, CVPR, NeurIPS)

• Apply 3D reconstruction research efforts to products advancing simulation for autonomous driving, robotics, and other domains

 

What we need to see:

• Currently pursuing a BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science/Engineering, Math/Physics/Statistics or a related field

• Strong technical abilities in traditional computer graphics or 3D reconstruction techniques such as NeRF, Gaussian Splatting, etc – with at least one working project demonstrating these abilities

• Coursework in theories and practices of machine learning, including common machine learning frameworks

• Coursework in traditional computer graphics and/or compilers

 

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

• In-depth knowledge of the theory and practice of machine learning and traditional computer graphics

• Strong publication record with at least 1 accepted paper for a related well-known conference (SIGGRAPH, NeurIPS, ICML, AAAI, CVPR, ECCV, ICCV, etc.)

• Knowledge of common machine learning frameworks

We are now looking for a PhD Research Intern - Programming Systems!

NVIDIA is seeking an outstanding researcher to join our programming systems research team. If you would like to help build the future of computing by equipping programmers with the tools they need to use parallel computing systems, this team will be a great fit for you! We seek to invent innovative parallel algorithm techniques, expressive parallel programming models/languages, powerful code analysis & generation tools, and scalable runtime environments that can help accelerate a broad range of real-world applications. After developing novel solutions and building prototype software that demonstrates their promise, you will work with product teams to help integrate your ideas into NVIDIA's accelerated computing platform.

What you'll be doing:

• Develop algorithms and design software extending the state of the art in parallel computing, machine learning, data analytics, and other technology areas surrounding NVIDIA's business.

• Invent new techniques, technologies, methodologies, and processes, to enable new products or types of products. Deliverable results include prototypes, patents, leading to products and publications.

• Produce technology vision and the basis for products 5-10 years out. Focus should not be on products currently shipping or in development, except as to how they can be extended and improved.

What we need to see:

• Pursuing PhD Degree in relevant discipline(s) (CS, CE, EE, Physics, Math).

• 2+ years of relevant industrial and University experience preferred. Relevant industries include hardware, software, and algorithm development on desktop, mobile, embedded, and datacenter systems.

• Strong programming ability: C, C++, Python, and Rust preferred

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

• Expertise in applying programming system insights and techniques to problems in machine learning, data science, and/or distributed computing.

• Expertise in applying AI, such as large language models, to create new ways of solving the problems of software engineering.

• Ability to implement ideas in the CUDA programming model

• Experience building software systems used by other developers to solve their own problems.
