Part 1: Job Profile a) Main purpose of job Shooting Star Childrens Hospices (SSCH) has an ambitious 5 year strategy with a number of key objectives and targets. The project manager will be responsible for the management and delivery of a number of projects aligned to our Strategy and to support the development of change capability across the organisation by promoting best practice. This will include managing projects through lifecycle (both new & existing) and taking responsibility for delivering on time, to budget & according to customer expectations/standards b) Work relationships The post holder reports to the Head of Strategy and Partnerships and will be responsible for supporting temporary project teams brought together to deliver specific projects. They will support teams across the organisation in the coordination and delivery of projects, within budget, scope and to the timings agreed. Who you are…

In this role, we’re looking for you to demonstrate a track record of delivering projects within a technically complex and dynamic environment whilst ensuring high levels of safety, security and environmental responsibility, ideally within the Nuclear Energy sector or similar regulated environment.

With this, your management of developing engineering design, contract and field execution strategies for project delivery, Multi-discipline EPCM projects, Procurement and management of complex contracts, Control of costs / risks will be paramount in this role. Other requirements for this role also include:


- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Leadership and its application in complex projects. This, in turn, should link with holding excellent communication and organisational skills, able to develop relationships and maintain effective networks.
- Experience of successfully engaging groups of stakeholders.
- Able to demonstrate strong management skills including project management, financial management, change management and facilitation. Proficient in the use of estimating scheduling, programming and risk tools.
- Experience of managing contractors, consultants and other advisors throughout large and complex construction projects, in a regulated environment. Including NEC and FIDIC contracts.


Previous experience of working within a MEH background and experience of working in construction within a nuclear setting would be desirable however, not essential. We’re looking for you to demonstrate your quality of delivery and have a “right first time” approach to your work.

The Project Support Officer is a key role within the N&W ICB Workforce team. Lower Ure Conservation Trust

We are looking for an enthusiastic candidate to assist with the delivery of our two-and-a-half-year National Lottery Heritage Fund project ‘Ure Connected – Engaging People with Nature in the Lower Ure Valley’. The project’s aim is to increase capacity for nature conservation and restoration on undermanaged Priority Habitats in the area while also increasing engagement with the local community.
Based primarily at Nosterfield Nature Reserve, you will carry out a variety of tasks, taking in aspects of both practical conservation and community engagement. This will include habitat management, ecological surveying and maintenance of reserve infrastructure and hides as well as helping to run a programme of events for adults & families, educational sessions for school children and community workdays. You will also work alongside and lead volunteers, assist with updating interpretation and contribute to our online presence.
A passion for nature conservation and a strong desire to learn are essential, along with good communication, organisational and IT skills. You must also have a driving license and be able to take up weekend / flexible working hours at particular times of year. You will gain a wide range of valuable skills and is an ideal position for those looking to start a career in conservation.

As Project Coordinator, you will provide project administration support at all stages of the Programme / Projects and be responsible for the recording of project documentation in adherence with the project lifecycle and to maintain and facilitate the recording of programme reports.


Your main responsibilities:
- Support all stages of the project lifecycle in accordance with the Serco Management System and project Methodology
- Management of Programme risks and co-ordination of risk activities
- Provide administration support to the Programme manager and wider project team
- Provide Quality Assurance over all major project deliverables, ensuring they are fit for purpose
- Support the Mobilisation & Transformation Programme manager in the creation & upkeep of processes, templates, and policies where appropriate
- Monitor the project management standards, policies, procedures and templates for planning and execution and escalate to Programme Manager as required.
What you’ll need to do the role:
- Ideally you will be working as a Project Coordinator or similar
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong administration skills
- Keen eye for detail, ensuring information is checked to a high standard of accuracy.
