Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Integrated Care Board has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, highly motivated registered pharmacy technician to apply for the Pharmacy Technician Project Support Manager role. The successful candidate will be a key member of the Integrated Care Board (ICB) Medicines Optimisation Team Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Integrated Care System, working within a team of highly skilled and motivated Pharmacists and Technicians who share an overarching goal to support quality, safety, and cost-effectiveness of prescribing in Staffordshire.

There is opportunity to be a key part in the delivery of broad range of medicines optimisation projects covering strategic programmes such as high cost medicines, formulary management, prescribing analysis, and Medicine Optimisation governance. These all building on and utilising the key skills of Pharmacy Technicians in providing technical support to agreed projects, facilitating the development, effective delivery and monitoring of the project plans within the overarching Medicines Optimisation Strategy

The successful applicant will require excellent IT skills, Office Packages, particularly Excel for data analysis. Candidates should also be able to demonstrate good communication and organisational skills.

Key responsibilities will include the ongoing monitoring and review of high cost drugs/technologies. Including the monitoring of projects and work streams (for example, prescribing data analysis) and the day-to-day management of BlueTeq and Net Formulary which are software systems used within the team. The post holder will use an extensive range of prescribing analysis and data systems such as ePACT2, PrescQIPP, BlueTeq, Net.formulary, MedOptimise and GP clinical systems to allow them to play a key role in detailed prescribing data and analysis for the general monitoring of the prescribing budget and clinical, quality prescribing performance management. This will embed the post holder in to the planning and organisation of key medicines optimisation activities and projects, both in conjunction with primary and secondary care.

The post holder will be able to plan their workload within agreed deadlines, targets and competing priorities allowing the postholder to effectively manage competing deadlines and day to day work to fit the longer-term strategic plan.

The Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent NHS Integrated Care Board (ICB) is responsible for planning functions; managing the NHS budget and arranging the provision of health services in the geographical area.

This post will support the continuing development of excellence in clinical practice in the Leeds Care Group Acute Inpatient Services leading to the delivery of high quality inpatient care. The post holder will also have the responsibility of providing a high level of clinical practice and practice development. They will work closely with the Matron for the Acute Inpatient Service and PICU and the Ward Managers to identify training and development needs for staff, to ensure that patients receive high quality, safe and effective care within the service and to embed the 6Cs in every aspect of their professional practice. Ward nurses will offer support to adolescents struggling with tobacco use, alcohol use, drug use, and mental health concerns. Our nurses advocate for the YP on the ward and for policies that will help improve adolescent health overall, and support YP who are struggling with sexual identity. We are also establishing pathways to look at the complicated issues around transition to adult service provision and making sure this process and journey is smooth and consistent for everyone involved. Experienced Band 5 Development Nurse- On completion of all the required competencies and once transferred into the Band 6 role, you will be required to lead the ward team, demonstrating excellent organisational, clinical skills, and ensuring focus is on delivering high quality evidence-based care to the child and family, assuring UHCW NHS Trust Values and objectives always remain central. The post holder will initially be expected to work as part of the adolescent team, learning the dynamics of the Adolescent specialism.
