International MineTech organisation seeking Digital Solutions Product Manager Your new company
An international MineTech organisation backed by a global Japanese technology conglomerate is seeking a Digital Solutions Product Manager (with a focus on mobile mining assets and digital transformation). This role will see you work as part of a new R&D Team at their Australian HQ in Brisbane in a highly funded start up environment akin to Silicon Valley.
Your new role
Established over 25 years ago and headquartered in North America, this MineTech organisation services the technological needs of mining companies throughout the world. With clients in several continents along with offices in North America and Australia, this organisation is soon to be brought under the umbrella of its parent organisation resulting in a newly created Digital Solutions Division.
Whilst having been in operation for several years, this organisation's Brisbane based R&D Team operate in a start up like environment. Currently comprising of nine technical professions, this team is set to go through rapid expansion over the next 12 months.
Your new role as this teams Digital Solutions Product Manager will see you work with both the engineering team and end clients on cutting edge digital solutions that will digitalise the operation of mine sites throughout the world. Specialising within the IoT, Cloud, AI and OT domains, the solutions you will be a part of are multifaceted. Such examples can include optimal vehicle traffic routes, the reduction of Scope 1 emissions and autonomous vehicles to name a few.
With several Product Specialists within this team (who each oversee a specific technical solution), your new role will see you manage the overarching platform that each technical function/solution is part of. With the end goal for this to be an all-encompassing platform that can be used across the many different functions within the mining domain, there is significant room for growth.
With this in mind, you will be working alongside the newly appointed Technical Solutions Manager whose skill set will compliment yours. Using their deep technical knowledge of IoT and digital mining to focus on the design and build of these solutions, your role will be more outward facing to enable end clients to understand the value, ROI and business advantages of adopting these brand-new cutting-edge solutions.
Whilst focused on a singular 'product', your work will see you focus on a range of solutions that impact this and manage the business implications of these. Working with various mining clients, you will gain an understanding of how they will use your cutting edge solutions and gather requirements to change the products to fit their needs. Whilst facing internal and external stakeholders, this role is not to be confused with a sales/pre-sales position, rather as a partner to customers throughout Australia and the world to bring their mine sites into the 21st century.
What you'll need to succeed
With this senior role encompassing many elements, you will need experience/knowledge across as much of the following as possible:
Product management
Large scale digital transformation
Digital mining technology (monitoring solutions, vehicle control systems, etc)
Mobile mining assets (vehicles, longwalls, drones, etc).
Understanding of value propositions, business planning and ROI's
Understanding of ESG such as carbon capture, Scope 1 emissions, etc
MBA highly regarded
Experience working with both a startup and corporate environment highly regarded
Working with stakeholders (internal and external) of all levels
