Job Summary:

Reporting to the Managing Director Asia and VP, Procurement Culinary the Procurement Director ASIA will be responsible for procurement activities in Asia with three key areas of primary responsibility within this role.

• To formulate, implement, and drive a consistent region-wide approach towards all procurement activities within the Asia procurement team, ultimately ensuring that procurement policy, best practice & governance in all areas including procurement procedures, processes, and benefits tracking defined, implemented, and adhered to.

CanCham Singapore is looking for a full-time Executive Director (ED) to oversee day to day operations for a rapidly growing, non-profit organization. As part of the 5-Pillars of Canada in Singapore, the Chamber ED works closely with the other organizations representing the Canadian community in Singapore. While working under the direct supervision of the CanCham Executive Committee, this is an independent role requiring creativity, diligence and dynamism to showcase the best of Canada-Singapore business relations and opportunities. General Duties of this role:

Management of day to day operations of CanCham, including:

• Respond to all member and non-member inquiries

Event Management:

• Development of an events calendar reflective of member needs through idea generation, consultation with relevant ExCo members

Working Hours:

• Gather and share market intelligence and competitive information with sales team, peers and marketing
• Support/assist in developing BU-based global MSAs and preferred provider agreements

Education/Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in the life science or business field and/or advanced industry knowledge

Experience:

• A minimum of 4 years of Sales experience selling services directly to the pharmaceutical and biotech section with direct interaction with key decision makers
• 3+ years’ experience managing teams
• Demonstrated client retention skills
• Ability to manage difficult client and/or financial situations
• Ability to differentiate Fortrea from competitors
• Strong working relationship with internal Fortrea management and site leadership
• Demonstrated ability to acquire and grow client base

Job Description

In order to meet our company’s business target, we are looking for a talented candidate who can be suitable for the position of Chief Executive Officer or CEO to operate and expand more business activities for the company. The CEO will be responsible for overall operations of Asia Global Commodities Pte. Ltd and coordination with the Vietnam representative office. The CEO will work alongside the existing teams in Singapore and Vietnam, and be primarily responsible for:

● General responsibilities:

o Develop high quality business strategies in the field of agricultural commodity trading and plans ensuring their alignment with short-term and long-term objectives;

o Lead and develop a high performing managerial team, inspire team leaders to lead and grow other team members;

o Oversee all internal and external operations and business activities to ensure they produce the desired results and are consistent with the overall strategy and mission of the company;

o Make high-quality investing decisions to advance the business and increase profits, further enhancing the brand in the agricultural commodity trading field

o Build trust relations with key partners, suppliers, and stakeholders and act as a point of contact for important shareholders;

o Analyze problematic situations and occurrences with trading activities and provide solutions to ensure company survival and growth.

● Business operation and development matters:

○ Periodically conduct market research and industry analysis in regional and global agricultural commodity trading;

○ Continue to run the current business activities and plan or execute new business development activities in agricultural commodity trading;

○ Plan and execute strategies to build brand awareness and establish new buyers and suppliers base in Southeast Asian countries, Middle East, China, Australia, Europe Unions, Africa and America;

○ Maintain the business relationships with current partners and establish active engagement with new international suppliers, buyers, agencies, corporates, and other strategic partners;

○ Analyze the market situation and negotiate price, payment terms, delivery method with suppliers and buyers to fix the deals successfully and create big revenue and good profit for the company;

○ Manage and direct the company’s staffs during performance of contracts with suppliers and buyers to ensure all transactions are successfully completed in a good manner;

○ Connect and establish partnerships with international banks, financial institutions and associations to mobilize the funding sources and credit lines for the company business operation.

Requirements:

● Work Experience and Additional Talented Skills

• At least 10 years proven experience as CEO or in other managerial position in the commodity industry
• Proven self-starter, able to grow the business fast
• Have available worldwide relationships with suppliers, buyers, agents, brokerages and partnerships from over the world
• Experience in developing profitable strategies and implementing vision
• Strong understanding of international business and performance management principles
• Familiarity with diverse business functions such as marketing, PR, finance etc.
• In-depth knowledge of corporate governance and general management best practices
• An entrepreneurial mindset with outstanding organizational and leadership skills
• Analytical abilities and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and public speaking skills in multiple languages including English, Chinese, Vietnamese, French, etc…
• Talented skills in market analysis, price negotiation, contract finalization in agricultural commodity trading.

● Education Background

○ Degree of Economics, Business Administration or equivalent from a reputable university with at least 10 years of relevant experience;

○ Additional Bachelor’s Degree or relevant certificates of social science specializing in languages and communication;

○ In-depth knowledge and strong understanding of the working culture of various suppliers from Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, India, Pakistan, Brazil and Argentina, etc…
