ROLE OUTLINE

Salary: $100,000 - $112,00 inclusive of superannuation
Location: Sydney, Melbourne, Adeliade, Brisbane

The Performance Associate Director spans the full spectrum of implementation, activation, and delivery. You provide leadership to activation staff, drawing on your expertise to coach, teach, and support them in delivering for our clients to a consistently high standard. You also collaborate with clients to produce successful implementation plans that drive real business change.

WHAT YOU SHOULD SPEND YOUR TIME DOING

People – 35% of your time
•Manage team workflow, delegating tasks effectively, making sure goals are set & met, and resolving issues with minimal guidance
•Ensure performance evaluations are completed to the required frequency and standard, coaching managers where required
•Lead the training and development of junior members of the team, including up-to-date certifications/accreditations across all relevant platforms
Product – 30% of your time
•Enrich ongoing implementation planning and buying practices to improve delivery, collaborating with practice leads where relevant
•Actively lean into GroupM craft initiatives at an AU, APAC and Global level to drive best practice in your team and to maximise knowledge sharing opportunities.
•Bring innovation and creativity to the table by leading the testing agenda for your team, collaborating with partners to harness their capability
•Supervise the reporting output across the team, ensuring it is jargon-free, insightful, and of the highest standard
Client – 20% of your time
•Own key relationships at the intermediate level, as it relates to implementation planning & buying
•Demonstrate strong media planning principles, working with clients to provide implementation plans that are grounded in strategic priorities
•Provide coaching and guidance to junior team members on their communication and relationship-building skills
Commercial – 15% of your time
•Address and resolve challenges and issues related to commercial tasks, liaising with stakeholders and coaching junior team members as required with minimal supervision

The Performance Marketing Director will lead the Performance Marketing team, and will be responsible for delivering the performance media strategy, planning, buying and management on behalf of our clients. You will manage significant digital media budgets on behalf of clients, including recommending how to split the media budget, implementing AdWords, paid social and online display/pre-roll campaigns (including remarketing etc.), and continual optimisation. You will need strong analysis skills to plan and forecast traffic/sales, as well as to deliver continual optimisation.

You will also work with our creative team to influence creative based on what is working. Ideally we are looking for someone who can also automate Google Adwords scripts, implement product feeds into Google, and manage the more technical aspects of our Adwords set-up for ecommerce clients.

This is a client-facing role that requires strong communication, expertise and high-quality work as clients will depend on you. You will be expected to lead clients and help identify opportunities to grow revenue for whiteGREY.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Performance Marketing & Digital Media (70%)
• Lead performance marketing strategy for clients, and become their trusted advisor on performance media
• Oversee delivery of performance marketing planning, buying, management & optimisation, ensuring that whiteGREY is hitting the agreed targets for our clients
• Working with the broader whiteGREY/TeamRed digital media team to deliver consolidated digital media strategies and campaigns
• Deliver all client requirements profitably and to the targeted profitability level
• Forecast digital media campaign results (traffic, sales, etc.) and highlight the levers that can be altered to improve results
• Plan digital media campaigns and recommend the best way to split media spend across paid search, paid social, online display/pre-rolls (including remarketing, sequential messaging, etc.)
• Work with the creative team to improve creative/messaging based on what is working/has worked recently

Digital Analytics (10%)
• Lead digital media reporting & tracking, including setting up tracking and attribution spreadsheets
• Own the delivery of insights and recommendations in monthly and quarterly reports
• Set up measurement plans and implement tagging (both media tags and Google Analytics/Adobe Analytics tags using DTM/GTM)
• Set up automated reporting dashboards for all clients (& projects where required)

Business Development (10%)
• Lead new business pitches for Performance Marketing/Digital Media, owning the technical response, and working with the Account Service team on the overall response
• Deliver a yearly increase in performance media billings and agency fees

Team Management (5%)
• Managing the Performance Marketing team
• Managing the ongoing training and development of yourself and your team

Other (5%)
• Keep up with industry trends to promote innovative and creative solutions
• Bringing knowledge of digital media to the agency – you will be the in-house specialist and will be expected to help others and contribute to new business/business development opportunities

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
• Should have the majority of:
o Experience managing performance media budgets of >$5m/yr across multiple clients
o Advanced skills in Google AdWords (including Display Advertising and Remarketing), and managing social campaigns using Facebook Business Manager
o Google Certified
o Experience reporting on campaign successes and be able to demonstrate how he/she optimises campaigns
o Ability to analyse reporting data to identify areas of opportunity and utilise conversion rate optimisation tactics (i.e. A/B, split-testing etc) to squeeze as much ROI as out of each dollar spent
o Data analytics and reporting experience and understanding in platforms including Google Analytics & Adobe/Omniture
o Ability to maximise account automation and scale CPA performance
o Ability to forecast likely traffic and sales based on planning a digital media campaign
o Strong hands-on technical capability for digital media campaign implementation and management, including:
o XML feed implementation and management for Google Shopping Feed and Facebook Dynamic Ads
o AdWords automation and alert script implementation (Working knowledge of Javascript)
o CRM integration (Customer Match, Facebook Lead Ads)
o Advanced tracking and attribution and spreadsheet skills
o Strategise and execute SEM campaigns to maximise conversions.

ROLE OUTLINE
The Performance Director – Campaign Delivery is a senior consultant that oversees and coordinates the delivery across a team of biddable media planning and campaign management experts. You will lead performance driven thought leadership, drive key client and agency contact, oversee the development of biddable media plans and brief responses. The Performance Director – Campaign Delivery will support in the co-ordination of biddable deliverables and work in partnership with the activation teams to ensure quality assurance and campaign delivery.
This role encompasses people management within the broader Campaign Delivery Team including recruitment, fostering key talent, reviews, training, coaching and performance management.
Other responsibilities include being a pivotal part of a broader eco-system in partnership with Mindshare’s strategic, client and marketplace teams. There is a level of accountability to that relationship and to ensure that biddable planning is a component of the broader media strategy. As a leader it is pivotal to drive a high functioning team with alignment on cultural values and business priorities across Mindshare x Nexus.
