Job Description:

At Regions, the Auditor performs internal audit activities in accordance with the Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing (SPPIA). 

Primary Responsibilities

• Assists in the development of the audit engagement plan, such as identifying and assessing risk

• Performs audit engagements according to the internal audit methodology with limited supervision

• Creates workpapers that meet the audit evidence requirements with limited supervision

• Drafts audit issues using established criteria in the internal audit methodology

• Identifies process improvements for the business based on understanding and analysis of process flows/operations

This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay. 

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• Two (2) years of experience in internal audit, external audit, banking, or risk management/compliance

Preferences

• Professional certification or progression towards one, preferably CPA, CIA, CISA, CFSA, CRCM, CFE, CRP, CAMS, CFIRS, CISSP, or CBA

Role summary:

As a Travel & Entertainment and Procurement Card Auditor you will verify and audit expense reports submitted by Flowserve employees against company policy to ensure compliance and you would also be responsible for transferring these data to the local ERPs. • Assure all T&E and P-card expense reports qualify for reimbursement per the Flowserve T&E policy.  As exceptions to the policy occur, assure sensitive yet clear and candid communication to impacted employee is timely.

• Identifies inconsistencies in daily data interface, corrects the inconsistency or escalates the problem to the next level, and have a continuous follow up on issues

• Handle and respond to Flowserve internal traveler and other employee requests and inquires according to the Flowserve SLAs

• Support the month end close activities and have a basic understanding of the process

• Assure accuracy of ledger account coding through rigorous training, follow-up and understanding of the available information necessary to assure complete and accurate processing.

Summary of This Role

Department Overview

The department is a key part of the firm's corporate governance and the department’s primary objectives are to review the company's control environment and report any weaknesses identified to the Audit Committee and senior management.

The Nomura Global Wholesale Internal Audit department in Asia ex-Japan (AEJ) comprises 30 professionals across Singapore, Hong Kong and Korea, who have between them responsibilities across all business lines and support/control functions in the region.

Duties of the Role

Reporting to the AEJ Regional Portfolio Director for Global Markets and Investment Banking Internal Audit, this role will be responsible for leading and participating in integrated audits of Global Markets and Investment Banking businesses. The integrated audits cover front office and supporting control functions including Market and Credit Risk Management, Product Control / Middle Office, Technology and Compliance.

The role involves interacting with senior stakeholders including business and control function heads to understand and assess the risks across a range of complex products and make value added control improvement recommendations.

As well as performing audit reviews, responsibilities include risk assessments, continuous monitoring, validating major control enhancements, reporting results to senior management, and contributing towards strategic and innovative changes to improve audit effectiveness.

The primary focus of the role is Global Markets, although the role also offers the possibility to cover other businesses.

Key objectives critical to success

• Lead and/or participate in global and regional integrated Global Markets audits and deliver the Audit Plan.
• Identify and agree value added control improvements with senior stakeholders
• Support risk assessments of a range of complex Global Markets businesses, and perform continuous monitoring to assess emerging risks.
• Develop working relationships with desk heads and senior corporate function stakeholders to ensure strong understanding of the business.
• Collaborate effectively with subject matter experts within the audit team (e.g. Market Risk, Credit Risk, Compliance and Technology).
• Work with data analytics experts to develop and implement data analytics and automated testing to identify internal control weaknesses during internal audit reviews and continuous auditing.
• As a seasoned professional applies solid understanding of audit standards, policies, and local regulations to provide timely audit assurance.
• Contributes to the development of audit process improvements as well as internal audit methodology.
• Effectively collaborate with Global and Regional Portfolio Directors across all regions.

Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required

• Strong background and experience of Capital Markets auditing in a major financial institution, Big 4 firm, or consulting firm
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify key risks and identify control improvements
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Strong in project management and building relationships
• Accountancy qualification preferred or equivalent industry experience
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
• Knowledge of general auditing principles, and best practices and standards preferred

Summary of This Role

Conducts operational, compliance, and financial audit and advisory engagements of domestic and/or international operations and providing sound project management. leads the planning and execution, reporting and follow-up of audit engagements. Develops, monitors and assists in executing the testing strategy for audit engagements.

What Part Will You Play?

• Leads the day-to-day tactical execution of audit and advisory engagement projects. Assists with the implementation and adjustment of project plans to ensure delivery in accordance with established project budgets and timelines. Participates in department-wide process improvement initiatives and special projects.
• Provides first level review of work paper documentation to ensure the retained documentation supports the audit work performed. Prepares or assists the project manager in preparing formal audit reports. Partners with the project manager to assess the adequacy of the corrective action(s) taken by management, stakeholders, or process owners to improve governance, risk management, and control issues.
• Leverages understanding of the organization to provide value-added audit solutions and apply industry best practices. Assists less experienced auditors with the interpretation of applicable laws, regulations, compliance standards and audit methodologies. Begins to act as an information source within the department.
• Tracks and reports project status and milestones to project leadership and/or management. Discusses audit results, their impact and recommendations for corrective actions with the project manager and/or management.

Responsibilities

• Perform the required IT audits of the organization as an individual or working in a team, following both established department standards and the Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Audit established by the IIA.
• Perform IT general and application controls review leveraging on strong technical knowledge of various technology applications, operating systems, databases, network and infrastructure to evaluate controls design and operating effectiveness.
• Identify potential IT risks and related issues by applying knowledge of Information Technology industry trends and present IT environment.
• Collaborate with other departments throughout the company to assess and mitigate risks related to IT systems and processes.
• Produce reports and audit work papers, ensuring effective documentation of results of reviews on assigned activities that have been made, as well as the recommended action that management should take.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information System Audit, Management Information Systems or a related field.
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience as IT auditor in internal audit or external audit in public accounting firm, or as Software Engineer or Product Manager.
• Must be able to read and understand logic in line of codes and extract data from database using query (Google BigQuery).
• Relevant IT audit and preferably business expertise and technical knowledge in one or more of the following areas: IT general Controls, Application controls, IT Networks, IT infrastructure, databases, middleware, microservices, interface connection, cyber security, IT development processes, cloud computing.
• Have experience and/or knowledge of IT General Controls (ITGCs), IT GRC, IT Risk, information processing controls and IT related controls.
• Have basic knowledge of Windows operating system, database management , Odoo ERP, electronic signature and document management tools such as PandaDoc, DocuSign, VIDA.
• Have experience and basic knowledge in performing data analytics using data analytics tools, such as: Metabase, Tableau, AirFlow, Google Studio.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
• Able to write a comprehensive audit report in both English and Bahasa Indonesia.

The Senior Auditor is an intermediate level role responsible for managing a small team in performing moderately complex audits and assessments of Citi’s risk and control environments in coordination with the Audit team. The overall objective is to apply in-depth disciplinary knowledge through value-added perspectives or advisory service to help Citi reach business goals.
