Position Overview

The Senior Manager of Learning & Development will play a crucial role in supporting a team of learning partners who support retail, store support, and distribution centres and their training and learning functions. • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in learning and development, and proactively recommend innovative approaches to enhance employee development.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, subject matter experts, and external vendors to leverage expertise and resources for learning initiatives.
• Monitor and manage the learning and development budget, ensuring cost-effective utilization of resources.

As a strategic partner and internal consultant to the enterprise, the Senior Manager of Learning Experience will lead a team of learning professionals to deliver learner-centric learning solutions aligned with business priorities. Qualifications:

The Opportunity

This Quality Training Specialist position works out of our Altavista, VA location in the Abbott Nutrition Division.  This position could have some off shift requirements.

• Lead and support QA training requirements across the AN manufacturing site.
• Provide direction and guidance to the QA Training resources at the site.  Manages the team's workload and is responsible for performance management.
• Support the business by assessing the learning need and developing/modifying QA training materials in accordance with the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Develop, Implement and Evaluate) principles.
• Apply Adult Learning Principles to QA course development.
• Develop QA training content and materials based on AN's learning methodology.
• Design and develop QA microlearning's, computer-based-training, instructor-led-training, job aides and other training support materials as needed.

What You’ll Work On

• Provide ongoing QA training support to the manufacturing site to ensure a compliant training requirements management system.  This includes QA onboarding and identification of site QA training needs.  Will support QA training needs related to CAPA and audit actions.
• Create, maintain and update User accounts and training assignments in the Learning Management System.
• Work closely with Division QA and site QA leadership to continuously improve QA training.
• Design, develop and deliver QA Training Courses/materials to meet business needs.
• Provide guidance and direction to QA training resources at the site.  Balances the teams workload and is responsible for performance management.
• Sets annual performance goals.  Identify barriers/obstacles to achieving agreed upon goals and escalate as needed to Regional QA Training Manager.
• Help to conduct QA training needs assessments and gap analysis.
• Help establish training effectiveness measures and evaluate QA training effectiveness.  Analyze data to drive continuous improvement of QA training content.
• Conduct business in a manner that will protect our product, our customers and our brand by complying with all applicable AQR and Division policies and procedures, EHS laws, as well as the Abbott Global and Technical Standards.
• Follow a structured approach to QA Training/Learning content/material development.
• Develop QA training in a variety of formats to support the business (i.e.; instructor-led-training, computer-based-training, training modules, microlearning’s, 1PLs, On-the-Job-Training (OJT) and competency assessments.
• Participate in Global and Site Cross-Functional Teams to assist with the development of global QA courses/training materials.  Helps to ensure applicability of new courses to the site.
• Working closely with Division QA, will help bring new technologies to QA training to help enhance/improve the learning process.  For example, virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), hybrid learning.
• Interface with SMEs; business functional areas and site QA as necessary to design and develop QA training courses/materials.
• When needed, will help support Project Safeguard workstreams training requests.  Will translate identified training needs into QA training/learning solutions in line with project timelines.
• Responsible for the ongoing evaluation and implementation of continuous improvement in relation to QA training/learning materials/courses.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Education, Science Engineering, Human Resources, Business, or Instructional Design OR an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Nutrition or other FDA regulated industry.
• Experience developing training courses/materials, reviewing existing quality training courses.
• Experience utilizing word processing software (e.g. Microsoft Office - Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

Preferred Qualifications

• Some knowledge of adult learning delivery techniques and general principles of adult learning a plus.

• Ensure compliance of training content/activities and approval system is followed with the proper documentation in place. 
• Master the application of multiple delivery modalities to effectively deliver training programs that address identified capability needs  within budget. 
• Coordinate brand trainings with subject matter experts (Medical and Marketing). 
• Set performance standards and establish/document training certification process to ensure all trainees are certified on critical capabilities that enable them to manage successful customer facing interactions.

This position is responsible for conducting training for providers primarily using Epic in the inpatient setting, under the direction of the Health Informatics Training (HIT) Director, HIT Manager or Epic Trainer Team Lead. Proficiency or credentialed in the Epic’s Orders module is preferred. Training is conducted in both the classroom setting and virtually, via Zoom. The Epic Trainer is assigned application(s) and is responsible for achieving an in-depth understanding of the software, policies and procedures, and workflows for each application.

Responsible for the preparation of the training classes they are scheduled to facilitate, including all needed training materials/supplies. Responsible for quality control, including administering a proficiency assessment and class evaluation at the end of each session, and forwarding ideas to improve the effectiveness of the training to the module’s Principal Trainer, Team Lead, Manager or Director.

This position will represent the Health Informatics Training department, as the initial point of contact, for the respective Epic end users. A pro-active stance to bring a favorable impression of Epic and the Health Informatics Training team is a paramount responsibility of this position.  Attention to customer service is expected and the ability to explain, especially when decisions are contrary to that of the requester.  Development of working relationships with clinic and hospital based partners to improve upon the Epic reputation will be an on-going expectation of this role.

Epic Trainers are members of enterprise and/or local system project teams and participate in discussions regarding building, testing, and maintaining the training environment, as well as the development and maintenance of training materials for the training program. They will support the analysts and Health Informatics teams in technological competency assessments. In addition to training end-users within the hospitals, this Epic Trainer will also train additional trainers within the organization, maintain policy/procedure documentation, provide training for new hires, and coordinate training for new software releases and updates.

Due to the nature of this job there could be occasions when this role will be expected to work weekends and after-hours, especially during software upgrade roll outs.

Epic Trainers ensure alignment of all application training activities with cultural and clinical transformation objectives. They identify and manage resistance to change, as related to their respective application(s) of responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Schedules and provides Epic desktop and mobile apps training for onboarding and current providers and other Epic users
• Continually assesses educational needs and provides additional training based on rounding and results shared from Epic’s productivity reports.
• Collaborates with the Health Informatics Training Director, Manager, Team Lead and other team members to conduct Epic’s usage efficiency (Thrive) training
• Assists Principal Trainers in validating the training environment, developing training curriculum, training videos and testing workflows for various end user roles
• Responds and troubleshoots end user Epic issues that are reported via electronic systems and software used by the department. Identifies opportunities for process improvement in support of Epic initiative
• Responsible for keeping current with system changes and enhancements to ensure a thorough knowledge of the clinical information systems as they relate to both physicians and clinical staff.

About the role
The Department for Continuing Education is looking for a professional and experienced Assistant Restaurant Manager.

You will assist the Senior Restaurant Manager in the running of the catering service operation and working with the team to provide an excellent standard of service.

The Department has a busy catering operation providing meals and fine dining events to our students and external clients. The operation takes place mainly on two sites (Central Oxford & Summertown), 7 days per week. Shifts will vary to cover the hours of business requirements, normally over 5 days per week, and will include weekend, bank holiday and evening work.

About you
You will have previous experience in catering, preferably with bar or barista experience, and experience in supervising staff. You will be flexible, customer focused, and have good communication skills.
