VCA Capital Area Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Animal Hospital is seeking an eager Veterinary Technician student to educate, train, and support to obtain the experience needed to complete their degree and advance their career. We have training roles available with our Internal Medicine, Surgery, and ICU departments. Applicants must be enrolled in an AVMA accredited veterinary technician program.
We are passionate about the training, growth and development of our associates. With multiple specialty departments available you will have the opportunity to learn from the best!
Your training will be supported with a minimum of 6 months as a training technician, paired with an experienced Veterinary Technician to guide you during your shifts. You will have training within your service department, as well as training in anesthesia and procedures.
Your success is important to us. In addition to being paired with a training technician you will have weekly check ins with your on-site supervisor, and monthly training check ins with our hospital director.

Under the supervision of a Credentialed Veterinary Technician, job duties are to include:
- Physical examinations and patient assessment
- Sedation, Anesthesia, and patient recovery
- Hands Free Radiology
- Venipuncture
- Dentistry
- Medical Recordkeeping
- Client education and communication
Potential Schedule: Full-time
Compensation: $20 – 26 / hour dependent on licensure, experience and skill set.
