Objectives of the Position

To provide administrative and secretarial support to the Sr. Vice President, Agricultural Solutions with the aim to facilitate the operations and coordinate people interactions.

Ensuring all assigned duties are carried out in a timely, efficient & organized way. Provide high quality assistance in all administrative duties.

Main Tasks:

Scheduling and Travel Management

• Maintain the meeting agendas and team calendars; exercise personal judgment to prioritize or suggest schedules for meetings, conferences, travel etc

Objectives

Objectives

The Local Business Manager for ASEANZ is responsible to lead the Performance Materials business teams in ASEAN & ANZ to develop, enable & implement robust activities aimed at growth, to increase profitable contribution to all 3 Strategic Business Units in Performance Materials division. Responsible for end-to-end Procurement activities within Surface Logistics categories in ASEAN countries (Singapore, Malaysia, India, Thailand, Vietnam and Philippines).

Develop, implement, and monitor the strategy of regional, high complexity category and working closely with internal Business Partners (iBP).

The Logistics Categories covered are Packaged/Bulk Transportation, Warehouse, Forwarding Service, Customs breakage, and Value-Added service.

Main Tasks:

Plan to Strategy (P2S)

Co-develop and implement procurement strategies for logistics services, to achieve operational excellence, optimal cost, and terms, for internal Business Partners, including production and logistics sites in the Country.

Included activities:

• Work closely with the other Regional Category Buyer and Head of Logistics Procurement, to develop procurement strategies for logistics services, and ensure that specific needs and circumstances of internal Business Partners in the country are incorporated in hub, regional and global strategies.

• Ensure that relevant systems are updated with required information regarding logistics services.
• Drive operational excellence with the support of the PSP by making use of procurement automation tools like outline agreements to minimize manual work.

• Manage approval of new suppliers based on general and country-specific requirements by aligning with internal Business Partners, EHS, Supply Chain and other relevant internal and external parties
• Pro-actively build up new suppliers in line with relevant category strategies to enable them to meet BASF’s standards and requirements (e.g. WSA, RSA) in future, ensure reliable supply at competitive prices and manage supply and price risks
• Address sustainability topics to protect BASF’s reputation and reduce business risks from non-compliance with environmental, social or governance (ESG) standards
• Regularly evaluate or support Supply Chain Management / Logistics, respectively, in the evaluation of the supplier performance based on suitable KPIs for delivery, quality and compliance to internal and external regulations based on available information sources (NCM, feedback from internal Business Partners, etc.), document the results of the performance evaluation and implement countermeasures if necessary.

Ensure that all procurement activities compliant with relevant policies, procedures and documented properly to achieve excellent and consistent quality of work results, avoid compliance issues, and allow for traceability of actions.

• Support to investigates accidents / incidents / dangerous occurrences and recommend remedial measures to prevent any recurrences.
• Advise risk assessment for all departments.
• Support EHS review for new projects and plant safety concept.
• Initiate and organize safety promotional activities such as Global Safety Day and Global Health Campaign.
• Coordinate EHS statistics, analysis and reports

Stakeholder Management

• Represents BASF and interfaces with local industry groups on behalf of BASF sites for issue management and advocacy.
• Contributes to the implementation and maintenance of good teamwork.

Legal and BASF compliance

• Maintains database on all applicable EHS laws and regulations.
• Gap analysis and implementation for new requirement and other WSH requirements.
• Be the responsible person for EHS related license and permit.
• Implement procedures to comply with BASF requirements. Interpreting the ‘What’ and introduce the ‘How’ at the site.

Management Plans and Programs

• Coordinate REHESA reports for site data
• Communicates incident flashes in site
• External report to local authority. E.g. Fire safety report.
• Support site for internal reports, e.g. EHS monthly, quarterly and annual reports, etc.

EHS Training

• Define site training needs and develop EHS training curriculum base on EHS training needs
• Preparing and scheduling training to cover emergency preparedness exercise, workplace safety and other relevant safety topics.

Audit

• Prepare site for BASF RC audit, ISO14001 and ISO45001 system audit.
• Consolidate the follow-up status of action items.

Fire Safety Manager (FSM):

• Ensure site fire safety provision comply with Fire Safety Act.
• Prepare and execute the Emergency Response Plan and conduct fire drills.

People Development

• Be the competent functional EHS via daily work and learning.

Safety Leadership

• Implement EHS activities to improve EHS culture.
• Plan site inspection for site management
• Facilitates experience exchange, lessons learned and know-how transfer among production sites.

Minimum Education and Qualification Required for the Position

• Bachelor’s degree in EHS, Science, Engineering, Production, Chemical or equivalent.
• Registered Fire Safety Manager (FSM) is a must.
• Minimum 3 years of prior safety experience in any related industry and knowledge of relevant legislative requirements, regulations, ISO45001 and ISO14001 and industry best practices
• EHS management system Knowledge (Responsible Care, ISO14001, ISO45001) EHS related regulations and standards.

Lead and develop the SCALE business (which includes Bangladesh, Pakistan, Philippines, Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos and Sri Lanka) profitably, while ensuring the strategic and operational topics are discussed and aligned with Business Unit for delivering the BASF Group Corporate Strategy.

Main Tasks:

The incumbent is responsible for the overall vision and strategic development of the SCALE business:

• Plan and implement country specific strategic plan and operation model to achieve business growth
• Formulate the overarching market development concept and develop country specific business growth strategies
• Organizational development of SCALE including continuously identifying solutions and optimization in how SCALE operates
• Workforce concept including implementation of the company’s diversity targets
• Leverage synergies by actively exchanging with other AS countries and actively supporting AS community
