This is a challenging and multifaceted role which will see you managing a small team and applying a service focused approach to managing contractor and guest requirements. You will work with external contractors and suppliers for scheduled maintenance. In a nutshell, you will be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the rooms, facilities and common areas of the property. This role will draw on your proactive approach and ability to multi-task and prioritise.

What will you be doing?

• Assist and oversee the day-to-day operations of the Front Office team
• Supervise and monitor team members with true leadership ability that motivates the entire team.
• Take initiative to ensure all interactions with our guests are positive and productive.  
• Ensure the smooth and efficient running of the Hotel's operation in absence of the General Manager/Senior Managers with a high level of customer service provided at all times.
• Actively resolve complaints and challenges presented by guests/customers to reach a win-win situation.
• Ensure there is management support and presence visible on Front Desk and in the lobby during key times throughout the day.  
• Process and assist with check-in and check-out of guests when needed.
• Respond to and coordinate emergency situations.

This full time  Assistant Manager - Nights  role reports directly to the Front Office Manager, you will be responsible for supervising and training the Front Office team and all guest interactions that occur overnight.

As a Assistant Manager (nights), your tasks and responsibilities will consist of, but are not limited to the following:

• Effectively manage the daily reconciliation of the Hotel outlets including reception
• Check and prepare reports and statistical information in accordance with service standards and auditing procedures during the night shift
• Represent the General Manager in their absence, holding responsibility for the smooth and efficient running of the Hotel's overnight operation
• Deliver guest service to all guests and handle any guest complaints
• Process and assist with check-in, check-out of guests, ensuring all procedures are adhered to.
• Provide guidance, support training and leadership to all employees
• Assist in all areas of the Hotel as required to eliminate potential issues.
• Responsibility for the health and safety of all patrons, guests and staff members.

Reporting directly to the General Manager and Director of Sales, this hands-on role is integral in leading the Food & Beverage operation to success. You will be responsible for multiple Food and Beverage outlets including Sen5es Restaurant & Bar, Fenians Irish Pub, Room service and Banquets. 

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Driving the management of all outlets ensuring that revenue is maximised and costs are effectively controlled
• Completing regular departmental forecasts and deliver on financial targets
• Developing a strategic plan (in conjunction with the Executive Chef and General Manager) for the Food and Beverage operations to ensure long term profitability
• Conducting regular analysis on all outlets and operations to continuously improve productivity, quality, market competitiveness and service standards.
• Implement marketing plans for each outlet to maximise revenue opportunities
• Undertaking projects within the Hotel at the direction of the General Manager
• Implementing and maintaining operational and brand standards and procedures across all outlets.
• Leading team performance management and development.

Breakfast:

• Supervise and manage the daily operations of the breakfast service ensuring high-quality food and beverage offerings, adhering to Novotel's standards.
• Monitor and maintain breakfast service efficiency, addressing any issues promptly.
• Collaborate with the culinary team to develop and update breakfast menus.

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of our café, Gather & Trade.
• Develop and implement strategies to enhance the cafe's profitability and guest satisfaction.

Conference & Events:

• Manage the operational planning and execution of conferences, meetings, and events.

Position Overview

A fantastic opportunity for the right candidate to lead our front office team in creating a welcoming place and memorable experience. One of the first impressions guests receive of the Hotel, and we all know first impressions count!

You'll constantly be looking to improve experiences keeping guest satisfaction high, drive our loyalty programme to gain as many new members as possible and lead/coach/mentor your team members.

You'll work closely with the management team contributing to hotel strategy and success.

Duties include:

• Ensures that guests' have a smooth running stay at the hotel, anticipating their needs.

• Manages and motivates front office teams in order to provide high quality services for guests.

• Ensures the department meets its quantitative and qualitative targets.

• Increases revenue through his/her sales efforts and by managing rooms revenue effectively.

• Implements brand and Group projects and carry out Duty Management shifts accordingly with business needs.

• Develops close relationships with guests throughout their stay with the aim of gaining their loyalty.

• Handles guest complaints if they have not been dealt with by team members and provides a rapid solution.

• Ensures that guest documentation and information is available and up-to-date.

• Induct new staff into the team, department and Hotel in the first week of their employment following guidelines. Ensure that all staff under your guidance carry out their duties in accordance with the Brand and Service Standards and Procedures Manuals.

• Openly communicate with staff ensuring regular briefings occur and all relevant information is passed on, create a team that works together with trust and takes responsibility.
