£20,049- £21,282 (36 hours per week, Term-time plus 10 days)

As our Learning Resource Assistant please see below your expected duties.
- to support learning and teaching within the LRC and across the school, with a particular emphasis on supporting the development of core learning skills and the use of ICT based resources and information.
- to maintain policy on the management and use of LRC, in collaboration with senior staff.
- to organise the resources, facilities and services of the LRC to allow flexible access and use for curricular activities, study support, independent and recreational use.
- study support and study skills development.
- curricular resource support.
- to provide appropriate support to pupils using the resources of the LRC independently.
- to support and promote reading for enjoyment.
- to participate in work with associated primary schools, as appropriate to school liaison initiatives.
Responsibilities
- You must have experience of working within a library, resource centre or information service.
- Ideally you will have experience working within Education and with young people.
- You must have an understanding of issues of library/learning resource centre organisation.
- You must be able to use your initiative.
- You must have knowledge and experience of using essential skills for information searching and use, including ICT.
- You must have an understanding of the role of the library or learning resource centre in education.
- You must have the ability to manage groups of young people effectively within a school context.
- You must be willing to participate in study support and out of school hours learning programmes.
- You must have experience of working within a library, resource centre or information service.
- Ideally you will have experience working within Education and with young people.

- Ideally you will be willing to be involved in school community life and whole school events/projects.
