Summary
The shipping and chemical markets are driven by a vast range of factors: from macro events such as geo-politics and changes in international regulations, to micro events such as weather or port congestion, as well as by changes in the demand/supply scenario for petrochemicals and how the freight market is affected by the physical supply and demand of chemical tankers. As such, the delicate balance between supply and demand is impacted almost on daily basis. Therefore, information and analysis are becoming an essential and crucial part of the shipbroking business, especially in the Chemical/Specialised segment which involves a wide variety of cargo types (organic chemicals, acids, biofuels, spec chems, etc) and a very heterogenic feet profile.
