Tennessee Valley Healthcare System is a Level 1A, integrated tertiary healthcare system comprised of two hospitals, the Alvin C. York Campus in Murfreesboro, TN and the Nashville Campus in Nashville, TN. TVHS has 19 community based outpatient clinics located in Tennessee. The Deputy Associate Director for Patient Care Service (DADPCS) reports to the Associate Director for Patient Care Services (ADPCS). The DADPCS has the oversight responsibility for the provision of timely and continuous high quality and safe nursing care delivered to patients of TVHS. The DADPCS is accountable for providing primary assistant to the ADPCS assuming the role of the ADPCS in the absent of the individual. The DADPCS works collaboratively with the Clinical Service Chiefs, Administrative Service Chiefs, Nurse Managers and Nursing Leadership to achieve Healthcare System goals.
The major responsibility of the DADPCS is to ensure the development of a highly educated, innovative and motivated nursing staff that delivers high quality competent nursing care over all sites of care.
Demonstrates exceptional communication skills and role models transformations leadership skills.
Responsible for implementing a staffing model that meets standards, is cost effective and incorporates systems thinking.
Provides organizational leadership skills to develop and mentor a highly effective diverse workforce.
Supports the VA Performance Management System through accountability as assigned measures.
Is involved in strategic planning, resource allocation and program and policy development related to professional practices.
Ensures ongoing compliance with Accreditation Standards
Works effectively within an interdisciplinary framework and has excellent communication skills with staff at all levels of the VA and with Families and veterans.

Preferred Experience:
Preferred ANCC Nurse Executive or Nurse Executive Advanced Certification
Minimum 3 or more years' demonstrated success Nurse Executive level experience (i.e. Director of Nursing, Chief Nurse, Regional or National level clinical program executive, etc.)
Prior responsibility with multiple campus and/or clinical services oversight
Prior successful knowledge and experience with nursing staffing models and budgetary planning and execution
Prior experience with service productivity and efficiency models
Previous knowledge and experience with regulatory agencies (i.e. Joint Commission, CARF, OIG, Long Term Care Institute, CMS, etc.)
Demonstrated success with employee engagement and retention
Demonstrated success with utilization of evidence-based improvements in patient care outcomes and quality of care
