What you'll be doing
As a key member of the Communications & Public Affairs (C&PA), Canadian Banking Communications team, you will be responsible for supporting corporate communications requirements for Canadian Banking as the business focuses on delivering market-leading performance (revenue growth) through client engagement.
Specifically, you will create, support, coordinate and execute communication plans/activities and work with the broader team on the delivery of key accountabilities. You will write, edit, provide advice, event planning, and communications guidance. You will work with C&PA team members as well as directly with business partners to develop general and specific internal, external, intranet and Internet content, executive briefings, presentations, remarks, and other related communication activities.
At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.
How you’ll succeed
- Communications expertise - Lead the development and execution of strategic communications plans and initiatives to support the Canadian Banking executive team. Provide communications advice and counsel for internal stakeholders on effective communication principles, plans and processes. Help build internal and external awareness of the business initiatives and strategy execution.
- Relationship management and business acumen - Confident working with senior executives, and an ability to manage relationships across the organization with proven ability to build strong working partnerships focused on outcomes. A strong and comprehensive knowledge of financial services is an asset.
- Influence and advise - Influence executives and partners with regard to approach, tone, content and timely impact of communications. Provide counsel and recommendations on communications activities by offering recommendations on procedures and practices to improve the efficiency of the team and the role as well as ensuring communication strategies and tactics are successfully implemented.
- Attention to detail in a fast-paced environment - Staying current with CIBC and client/business strategies/priorities while ensuring accuracy of information through attention to detail as well as sensitivity to context. A strong ability to execute against high volumes, swift pace, and tight deadlines, while managing multiple projects and writing assignments in a time-sensitive environment where at times, information may be limited.
