This role will be supporting the Business Support Accountant overseeing the Radiology & Private Patients directorates to ensure robust and accurate financial management and reporting are completed at all times. Please refer to attached JD and Person Specifications for detailed duties and responsibilities.

Budgetary Control - Assist in the preparation of timely and accurate budget expenditure information. - Assist in ensuring accuracy of expenditure information in the financial ledger and associated feeder systems. - Assist with the on-going development of sound financial management systems. - Prepare and ensure accurate input of budget and expenditure journals into the ledger and associated feeder systems to agreed timetables. - Assist in the analysis of budget and expenditure variances. - Ensuring accurate representation of budget expenditure position in liaison with other teams. - Assist in the production and analysis of reports and confidential financial information from appropriate systems. - Attend budgetary meetings as part of the Finance team as requested. Analytical Responsibilities The post holder will provide support to the Transformation and other strategic Programmes. Contributing fully through the provision of an advanced and comprehensive analytical service within the Transformation team as required. This includes attending and contributing to monthly performance management meetings and providing relevant and high-quality information. Develop and demonstrate detailed and specialist knowledge of a range of reporting and analytical systems and deliver complex financial analysis. Establish effective working relationships with Finance, BI and other colleagues across the Trust to enable an exchange of complex information as required to support the production of robust finance analysis for transformation projects. Ensuring that available business intelligence is accurate, timely, up-to-date and fit-for-purpose To support the Transformation Infrastructure, working closely with the PMO arm of the Transformation team, to support development of financial improvement plans, monitoring and reporting of the financials related to all efficiency projects. Contribute to the production of monthly reports for the Transformation Group with updates on financial impacts of transformation projects. Support the co-ordination of available performance monitoring information for the Transformation Programme Provide, receive and present highly complex, in some cases sensitive/contentious, information. The post-holder will have the ability to communicate a range of complex information management and records issues to a variety of audiences, (clinical and non-clinical). To support compilation of reporting for a robust in year and forecast year end position for the efficiency programme, reporting relevant financial information to the programme team, Divisional and Corporate teams and work streams. To support the transformation team in ensuring that all proposals for efficiency/productivity schemes are robust and that savings achieved are monitored and reported. To contribute to the developing use of financial analytics, including benchmarking and productivity analysis to support transformation programme impact monitoring and in the development of productivity improvement plans. Support in the development of appropriate financial management information systems that allow the Transformation / Strategic Programme to fully understand all aspects of Transformation related financial performance. To support in the production of effective variance analysis and investigation of factors causing movements. Managerial Responsibilities Support the provision of financial briefings to the Transformation Programme, attendance at senior management forums and performance management meetings as required, providing relevant and high-quality information. Oversight and analytical review of a portfolio of business cases relating to the Transformation programme, applying appropriate financial appraisal techniques (working closely with the senior members of the finance team). To support the production of accurate information to each work stream, working closely with both Trusts information teams To identify own training and development needs and undertake appropriate training / education as required, supported by regular PDP. To participate in Trust Committees and meetings as appropriate. Lead on analytics for projects that support the delivery of the Trust financial sustainability strategy with special attention to cross-directorate issues and workflows. Support as required the process to monitor the progress of these projects ensuring colleagues in divisions/corporate functions are clear on what they need to account for and ensure resource utilisation is in place across the directorates and support the introduction of remedial steps where necessary. Job Overview This role is a key part of supporting strategic and transformation programmes across the Dorset Integrated Care System (ICS). Delivering analysis and assurance the post holder will ensure business cases, investment plans and improvement opportunities are robust and able to deliver our ambitious change plans. This is a great opportunity for an analyst with strong technical expertise who is comfortable working with large and complex datasets to develop financial models for forecasting, scenario testing and planning. This role will suit an individual who enjoys supporting service change and has experience of developing and analysing cost and benefit models to evaluate options. Strong excel skills are a must, but the ideal candidate will have proven ability in using SQL to extract and transform data and experience building visualisations in tools such as PowerBI. This is a new position with the opportunity for the postholder to shape and develop the role over time in conjunction with senior management. Job Purpose The Finance Analyst Strategy is responsible for providing technical expertise and analytical skills to lead development of robust financial models in support of planning and service change. They will also act as the first point of contact with the Directorate for supporting the development of business cases, including ICS wide service change, capital programmes and funding applications. The post holder will work with data from a variety of sources, including financial information from partner organisations and non-financial data such as workforce, performance and activity across the system. They will utilise this data in novel and innovative ways to produce useful and insightful management information that supports financial planning. This role will be a key point of contact across the system for colleagues developing business cases, with investments typically ranging from £1m - £20m. The role will provide advice, financial analysis and independent assurance into these business cases to support evaluation and realisation of benefits, delivering service changes that improve health and wellbeing for the population of Dorset. As the ICS develops this role will support the planning and prioritisation of the capital allocation, ensuring the funding available is utilised to deliver the best outcomes and that organsational and system capital plans are aligned to key strategies such as digital and estates, in turn supporting the operational and clinical strategies that underpin the ICS Joint Forward Plan and long term ambitions. Job Summary To work with the digital transformation team and analyse as-is processes and challenge historical ways of working where appropriate. To produce as-is and to-be process flows using Microsoft Visio & engage with Service Managers for approvals. Design and document new to-be processes incorporating the new software functionality and the current as-is processes. To assist in the writing of the Business Change Plans for each Service using the agreed to-be processes. To identify any new changes needed in the configuration of the chosen system and the development of new clinical tools within the system. To be responsible for the delivery of Business Change activities related to the deployment of all Clinical Systems projects. Including training plans and ensuring process changes are fully adopted/embedded into the respective service. Offer advice and guidance on effective use of clinical systems, including agile working capabilities and emerging cross provider systems and processes. To communicate key benefits messages to all services to gain widespread involvement and stakeholder buy-in to the project so that people have an understanding of why the changes are being made.
