Hays Accountancy & Finance are partnering with a leading housing group to recruit for a dynamic and experienced Finance Analyst, based in their Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire office for a 12-month fixed term contract. Reporting into the Senior Finance Business Partner, the role will involve developing and maintaining the finance business partner service to key business stakeholders. The finance analyst will work with the partnering team to provide analysis and insight into the business that drives opportunities, manages risk, and supports delivery of strategic plans. Your new role
Your key duties will involve supporting future business performance through acting as a trusted, visible, and accessible point of contact to stakeholders; providing analysis of financial results and making the link to commercial/operating data to provide insights that will drive financial and operational decisions. You will support the preparation of budgets, providing challenges if off target, and reforecasting as appropriate. In In addition supporting the preparation of accounts, balance sheet reconciliations including month-end and year-end reports, reporting on relevant finance KPI's, and assisting with process improvement. You will build effective pro-active stakeholder relationships and be involved in ad-hoc projects that support growth and change.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this hands-on Finance Analyst role, you will need experience within a similar position, previous experience building trust and influencing internal stakeholders, with a commercial mind-set. Strong MS excel skills and good accounting systems experience, along with being very willing to learn and adapt within a changing organisation. You will ideally have practical experience in assisting with preparing budgets, management accounts and business planning, along with understanding accounting legislation. You will have excellent communication skills to partner with finance and non-financial stakeholders at all levels, and be used to managing workloads to meet deadlines. Ideally you will be part-qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA/AAT or qualified by experience. Experience within the housing sector would be advantageous but not essential.
