OVERVIEW OF POSITION / DEPARTMENT
The new Development Review Division of the Public Works Department is seeking Real Property Specialist Senior. The Real Property Specialist Senior is responsible for reviewing subdivision plats, site plans, legal descriptions for easements or license agreements and makes recommendations for revisions or approval.
This new Development Review Division has been created to consolidate Public Works development review including site plans, civil plans, traffic engineering and Real Property reviews with a focus on customer service and achieving or
exceeding performance metrics.
The city’s overall development process, spanning several city departments, is managed by the Office of Development Assistance (ODA), a division of the City Manager’s Office. ODA’s project managers are the liaisons between our development partners including initial department introduction meetings, development applications and planning approval, civil construction document review and approval and building construction document review and approval and permitting. Departments that are integral to the development review process include ODA, Planning and Development Services, Aurora Water, Parks Recreation and Open Space and both the Public Works Engineering Services Division and Building Division.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Reviews legal descriptions associated with subdivision plats and annexation maps, and makes recommendations for revision or approval
Process and review subdivision plats and annexation maps for recordation
Reviewing building permits, site plans, and other real property exhibits
Research real property inventory and appropriate county clerk and recorder’s offices
Participates in development review meetings for internal and external customers
Facilitate communication and collaboration with others to solve problems
Serves as a liaison with departments, developers, and consultants
Makes complex mathematical computations
Quality control for records and data management, including production and status activity report
Prepares technical reports and memoranda for use by management
Assist and coordinates citizen requests
Performs other duties as assigned
Reviews Separate document Legal descriptions for easement releases/dedications and Street Vacations

This highly regarded, and directory rated Top 100 firm has an impressive national presence and is looking to recruit an ambitious experienced Commercial Property Solicitor to join their Bristol team. This leading law firm provides a comprehensive range of legal services including advice and support to health, social care, education and housing organisations across the public and independent sector.
Your new role
In joining this leading team, you will run and manage the full range of commercial property matters, including the negotiation of acquisitions, disposals and development agreements, leasing and real estate finance for clients across the health sector. You will be advising lenders on an array of real estate matters. As part of the real estate team, you will operate all major sub-markets in independent healthcare for a wide range of clients, from investors to developers.
In your new role you will get the opportunity to engage in plenty of client relationship management, and as this is a role for an experienced lawyer, you will be taking some responsibility in team supervision and business development.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be an experienced Commercial Property solicitor with a broad property skillset developed in your previous experience, with excellent communication skills. You will have experience of not only taking the lead on key projects and client matter but also have strong client management skills. You will have experience in bespoke drafting and legal analysis, and experience in corporate support, development and/or health sector work would be a distinct advantage in this role.
