Financial Systems Technician

The role:
Provide first-line support for Finance users on the Access Dimensions accounting system (plus HCSS budgeting software), Central Office Fees users on iSAMS billing system and General users on the Access Focal Point purchasing and expense system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Updating and closing tickets on System Support Help Desk and responding to direct calls into System Support.
- Liaising with external software provider (Access) to resolve issues.
- Maintaining user static data – starters, amendments, leavers, profiles.
- Maintaining purchase static data – new suppliers, amended suppliers, process approved bank details, process expenses (including credit cards), assist in payment process, maintain approval data.
- Maintaining general ledger static data – process new nominal and project codes plus amendments, check integrity of codes, maintain HCSS budget link with Dimensions.
- Maintaining sales ledger static data – check iSAMS fees interface, support fees team.
- Provide support for the set-up of new schools (including training).
- Period and year-end management – check integrity, produce reports, advance period.
- Importing bulk data to sales, purchase and general ledgers on behalf of Finance users – various payroll, utility bills, bursaries, VAT, recharges, central DDs.
- Bank account maintenance – check auto statement load, perform manual statement loads, provide bank reconciliation reports to central Finance.
- Coaching and guidance for users on all aspects of Dimensions and Focal Point.
Essentials:
- Experience as 1st line support
- A natural interest in the workings and set-up of software systems.
- Self-motivated and able to work under my own initiative.
- Detailed and precise approach to workload.
- Good communication skills across all levels of the organisation.
- Ability to time manage tasks and delivery focused in time critical periods.
- Ability to determine and understand key factors in complex situations.
