Primary Responsibilities
Candidate is familiar performing within a fixed price, performance-based environment where performance is based on pre-determined Service Level Agreement’s (SLA’s) or Acceptable Quality Levels (AQL’s).
Performs detailed and technically in-depth site survey functions at user locations as required in order to assess/analyze site preparedness, develop build of materials and develop implementation plans.
Performs a variety of difficult assignments associated troubleshooting, fault isolation, and performing maintenance on network devices.
Installs and maintains network devices from the following major vendors to include but not limited to: Cisco, Juniper, Ciena, and Infinera.
Analyzes system faults and troubleshoots and runs diagnostic tests on hardware and circuits to detect problems. Reviews and prepares documentation for systems and maintains site documentation to include inventories, floor plans and cable diagrams. Investigates and recommends methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
Performs preventive maintenance per OEM recommendations. In this high paced environment, able to handle the scheduling and coordination for multiple simultaneous projects with varying schedules and priorities.
Coordinates with users, site/base support and or facilities personnel, network manager(s) and controllers, long haul and local carriers for installation, cutover, activation, deactivation planning and execution.

PROGRAM SUMMARY:
This program provides critical Communications and Information Technology Services to support U.S. Africa Command, U.S. European Command, Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa, Southern European Task Force, and associated staff elements and organizations. The Leidos DES (Defense Enclave Services) team is supporting an extensive digital modernization program critical to DISA and Fourth Estate Agencies and is currently seeking a Sr. Storage Engineer located at Ft. Meade, MD.
PROGRAM SUMMARY:
The Leidos Defense Enclave Services (DES) team, will support services including architecture, engineering, enterprise operations, applications and hardware support, asset management, and related IT services in support of a DISA. These professionals will support information technology discovery, optimization, and transformation into a centralized, operational enterprise. You will provide transformative IT services across all engineering disciplines critical to developing and deploying operational capabilities into an integrated and modernized enterprise environment.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT:
•Must hold an active Secret clearance prior to start and be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret. (US Citizenship required)
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Manage virtualization high availability/disaster recovery solution design and integration with the backend storage.
•Analyze backup software performance and monitoring of scheduled backups to ensure success or take remedial action for failures
•Work with cluster file systems and other technologies to provide redundancy and availability for server farms and applications.

What will you do in this role?
• Identify enterprise-level solutions for complex problems through the application of systems analysis and engineering processes.
