Our client based in Bournemouth has a requirement for an experienced Quality Manager to join and lead the company’s quality department. You will be required to provide strong leadership and strategic planning to develop, implement and maintain the quality assurance processes that support the business mission and ongoing continuous improvement for the site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Working with all members of staff to achieve the targeted improvement goals.
- To proactively assume responsibility for any quality issues that may arise, liaising between the Business Unit and the customer where necessary.
- Maintain an awareness of quality trends and advise the business accordingly.
- Defining areas of responsibility for all staff within the Business Improvement and Quality Department.
- Interfacing with industry regulatory and other customer/government and notified bodies as necessary on ISO9001, ATEX, FM, MET etc. related accreditations.
- Managing the performance of the Quality Team and recruiting new staff as necessary. Organising staff training to develop career progression.
- Planning and conducting internal audits for all areas/functions within ISO9001 Quality System. Conducting project specific audits where applicable in conjunction with customer’s Quality Assurance Representative.
- Appraising Executive Management of quality deficiencies including major Quality problems
- Working with suppliers to ensure agreed quality standards are met.
- Generation, Presentation and/or approval of Quality Plans/Statements for projects/products. Assistance with other documentation such as Procurement Specifications, Procurement Conditions, proposals etc. Provide Quality Engineering support to projects and contracts as required.
Applicants must have recent experience in quality at a similar management level, you will also require an in-depth knowledge of all aspects of Quality Management Systems (QMS.), a thorough understanding of the requirements of BS EN ISO9001:2015, knowledge of product specific approval requirements (ATEX, FM, MET etc.), experience of working with 8D reports, root cause analysis and Corrective Action Planning, knowledge of Lean/Sigma Business Improvement tools and techniques and KPI development and management.
This is a full-time permanent position with an immediate start available for the right candidate; the working hours are Mon - Thurs 8.00 am till 17.00 pm and Friday 8.00 am ‐ 13.00 pm (39 hours).
