Job Description
Role Overview
The Mass Foundation Cluster (MFC) has an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified individual to oversee the capital and reporting requirements of the Retail Mass Protection and Investment products.
A key focus will be to lead a team of professionals responsible for the ongoing monitoring, reporting and forecasting of the financial impacts of the Old Mutual Limited strategy. The team will also be responsible for all Retail Mass Market (RMM) capital related work, including SCR and ORSA shocks, cost of capital calculations, earnings at risk calculations and capital forecasts.
Key Result Areas
- Capital Management – Oversee production and analysis of capital calculations including SCR, ORSA and earnings at risk.
- Financial Reporting - Presenting results to senior stakeholders and submission of valuation results (IFRS17, MCEV and SAM).
- Monthly Reporting – Ongoing monitoring and analysis (outside of valuation periods) of the financial impacts of the OML strategy.
- Business Planning / Forecasting – Produce the business plan and other forecasts to estimate future financial impacts of the business strategy.
- Funding – Project and request funding requirements.
- Continuous Improvements – Enhancements of models, creating of efficient processes and managing the data consolidation framework
- Projects - Support the delivery of project objectives
Requirements: Skills, Qualifications and Experience required
- Qualified actuary or actuarial student with a minimum of 14 exam credits and 6 years’ actuarial experience
- Financial reporting and/or valuation experience
- Management experience
- High level of accountability and ownership
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Knowledge of the South African Life Insurance environment, products and systems would be advantageous
