About the Team As part of Policy, Advice and Research Division, the Research and Evaluation Branch is responsible for ensuring that NDIA policies, practices and priorities are informed by trustworthy and robust evidence. The branch aims to improve evidence-based decision making within the NDIA and finds solutions to high priority issues, shaping disability research to maximise its impact for the NDIS. The branch is accountable for collating and conducting research, evidence, best practice and lived experiences for decision-making. This includes evaluating key NDIA programs and initiatives, ensuring staff are able to find, generate and utilise evidence for decision-making and translating our knowledge of research to our customers and stakeholders. About the Role The EL1 Assistant Director, Research for Specialist Reform Programs (Labour Hire) is accountable under broad direction to undertake very complex work that delivers quality outcomes within the Research and Evaluation functions of the NDIA. The position will exercise a considerable degree of independence to engage in very complex problem solving and issues management within the Research and Evaluation functions. The position will exercise sound decision-making and judgement to produce high level policy advice and operational support. The EL1 Assistant Director, Research for Specialist Reform Programs (Labour Hire) will coordinate and assume responsibility to undertake detailed or sensitive projects that may include performing varied activities involving many different and unrelated processes or methods that may impact on the strategic or operational outcomes that support the NDIA’s objectives to “build a world-leading National Disability Insurance Scheme”. Executive coaching will be a big part of this role, where you'll have key exposure to how the business is lead.
What you'll need to succeed
You must have recent experience of working in a Law Firm, ideally with experience of partner stakeholder management. Experience of working in a global matrix organisation is key, as you'll be reporting into the Global head of L&D based in the US, and will understand the challenges and complexities of international learning and development plans.

This position starts at a salary of $132,368.00 (GS-14, Step 1) to $172,075.00 (GS-14, Step 10) with promotion potential to $172,075 (GS-14, Step 10).

In this First-Line Supervisory position, you will be supervising the analysis of Intelligence Surveillance Reconnaissance (ISR) data and product production in accordance with the Tasking, Collection, Processing, Exploitation, and Dissemination (TCPED) process, which supports CBP analytical intelligence needs. Duties may include but are not limited to:

• Researching and collection operations; collection activities; projects requirements; requirements and requests for information of imagery; planning and directing imagery collection, production, dissemination, and analysis.
• Managing National and Commercial imagery libraries for required softcopy imagery, while facilitating the integration and fusion of all-source multi-sensor data and providing comprehensive knowledge of intelligence, imagery analysis, and research methodologies to develop databases.
• Directing the exploitation and product creation of synthetic aperture radar data, Ground Moving Target Indicators (GMTI), Dismounted Moving Target Indicators (DMTI), spot imagery, collecting Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance sensors, and provide hands-on analysis, producing intelligence on a broad range of issues in support of CBP and DHS national security programs, goals and objectives.
• Managing, conducting, and coordinating imagery research and analysis of current and historical imagery in response to internal and external intelligence requirements including imagery from National Technical Means, air breathers, Full Motion Video or civil/commercial sensors.
• Delivering products and participating in operational planning in support of CBP components, joint, or other mission requirements and compiling/archiving products in accordance with organizational standards.
