Job Description

• Responsible for all aspects of financial recording and reporting for our Japanese and Singapore business units, including posting of all AP and AR transactions, such as invoices and payments, posting of all journals, updating of all schedules such as fixed assets, prepayments and accruals, and completion of monthly management accounts.
• Maintain existing and create new spreadsheets associated with both our Singapore and Japanese business units such as bank reconciliations, fixed assets, prepayments and accruals, reconciliations and controls, and financial KPIs.
• Maintaining petty cash expenses including office expenses and preparing of travel allowances for local and overseas employees operating in APAC and also UK & US.
• Processing employee expense claims, recording secondment costs for employees, seeking appropriate approval for payment, and preparation of payments for both Singapore and Japan employees.
• Completion and submission of the monthly Singapore GST return to IRAS, and similarly, annual Japan consumption tax return to Japanese tax authorities.
• Assisting with and eventually completing in full the Singapore monthly management accounts, including posting journals, maintaining fixed asset registers including depreciation charges, bank reconciliations, accruals and prepayments schedules and examining and explaining variances between actual and budgeted figures.
• Completion and submission of all annual schedules and returns for Japanese year end filing purposes, such as tax returns, depreciable assets returns and financial statements.
• Working alongside the company accountant to prepare and complete year end accounts, supporting schedules and documentation for our Singapore business, in preparation for the annual financial audit. This also involves liaising with our auditors when onsite and providing them with additional information and explanations as required during their fieldwork.
