Job Summary
· We are looking for a dynamic and experienced individual to lead the Sub-Advisor and Customised Solutions team, which is part of the Group Advisory and Managed Investments team (Wealth Management) within Standard Chartered bank.
· Group Advisory and Managed Investments team covers Funds, Alternative Investments and ETFs and owns the approval process for these products across the retail and private bank segments
This role is to:
· Lead the Signature Securities Portfolios (SSP) - a set of portfolios of individual securities, actively managed based on model portfolios by select third-party sub-advisors
· Lead the SC Funds umbrella – a range of white label mutual funds managed by third-party sub-investment managers and distributed exclusively by Standard Chartered Bank
· Develop and manage end-to-end a competitive private market co-investment platform giving our private bank clients access to single deals globally
Responsibilities
Product Management
· Maintain oversight on third-party managers in the portfolios, carrying out ongoing performance monitoring and due-diligence work
· Work closely with the bank’s fund selection team – to ensure optimal process alignment, and monitor and select the best third-party managers globally, both traditional and alternative, to distribute to our clients
· Evaluation, and implementation direct investing opportunities for co-investment platform across asset classes (i.e. private equity, private credit, real assets)
· Active engagement of general partners to facilitate client access to deals through co-investment platform.
· Maximising the success of existing solutions and identifying and growing new large-scale opportunities
· Identifying future commercial success ideas and working with key stakeholders to ‘make things happen’
Governance
· Day-to-day portfolio monitoring of third-party single securities mandates and white label funds
· Working in conjunction with our third-party managers to ensure client portfolios are in line with mandates/ objectives
· Performance attribution and monitoring
· Close collaboration with our Middle/ Back Office/ Compliance business functions
· Deep understanding of how operations link to front office and take ownership for linking these functions and ensuring the processes run smoothly.
· ‘End-to-end ownership’ of the process from front office to back/ middle office functions

Client Focus - Sales & Marketing Support
· Communicate effectively the merits of our market leading propositions to our client teams

· Lead and coordinate the sales and marketing effort across distribution segments for SC Funds launches

Risk Management
· Embed a risk culture that support the Bank’s strategy and philosophy for the management of risk and may be called upon to define risk policy within scope of responsibility
· Ensure that effective arrangements are in place within WM in the region for the prevention of money laundering in line with the Group Policy and Standards, respective country regulatory guidelines and local legal requirements. In particular, ensure that the obligations on reporting suspicious activities are met.

Our ideal candidate
· 10+ years focused experienced in third-party managers selection with the relevant experience for both traditional and alternative investment strategies
· Extensive experience in dealing with private assets (private equity, private credit, real assets) from a structuring, due diligence, and selection point of view
· Knowledge of, and aptitude to deal with, operational complexities of separately managed accounts, single securities mandates, mutual funds and alternative investment structures
· Prior client facing experience in a private bank is required
· Undergraduate degree, preferably with an Economics/Finance background
· CFA, CAIA and other similar qualifications preferred
· Deep understanding of financial markets and investment instruments
· Mandarin language would be advantageous as the scope of the role will be to work on clients from predominantly in the North Asia based market (predominantly Chinese).

The Role Responsibilities
There are dual responsibilities, firstly to support Country Head of FCSO to discharge responsibilities from an FCSO Investigation perspective and secondly to support Country Head of FCSO insofar as they relate to the management and oversight of controls related processes. The incumbent has to be mindful of conflict of interest in discharging the dual responsibilities.
Strategy
· Input to Country operating model design of relevant FC Framework and business processes.
· Ensure that there is adequate support (people, processes, tools, frameworks, systems) in the Country for necessary Surveillance Operations.
· Implement the vision, strategy, and direction for the Country FC, consistent with the vision and strategy for FCSO and in support of the Group’s strategic direction and growth aspirations
Business
· Analyse comprehensive impact of financial crime related regulatory /law enforcement matters on the relevant business area and operations.
· Support relevant stakeholders to make decisions based on current and possible future policies, practices, and trends.
Processes
· Act as Process Owner for FCSO-owned (sub-) processes under the Group’s Risk Management Framework, including implementation and roll-out of relevant processes and DOIs.
· Develop, keep-up-to date and recommend for approval by the relevant Risk Committee, appropriate FCSO Controls policies/procedures/DOIs to address financial crime risks, aligning with relevant regulatory requirements
· Providing governance and oversight over the implementation of FCSO Controls -related policies and procedures in Country to ensure compliance with such policies and procedures.
Investigations
To investigate risk events / cases:
· Escalated by Financial Crime Surveillance Unit (FCSO-AA) teams (arising from Transaction Monitoring, Trade AML &/or Name Screening);
· Other escalations as per procedures / DOI; and
· Any other matter as directed by Country Head of FCSO
For identifying suspicious transactions / activities, in compliance with Group policy and procedures, laws and regulations in Singapore on AML/CFT.

· Make recommendations (and/or implement) to relevant stakeholders on possible risk management responses to identified risks and/or findings of concerns from investigations.
· Inform senior management and relevant regulators of serious regulatory breaches (or where risk tolerances have been breached) and ensure that actions are taken quickly to remediate and/or activities are ceased.

The Role Responsibilities
Working as part of the Singapore Wealth Mgmt Operations (WMO) team to provide end-to- end governance of Operational processes covering WM products of GBS and WMO hubs. · As part of the Balance sheet substantiation process, support the preparation and approvals of all Sundry & Suspense balances submitted in the Financial Control System (FCS).
