About You
The Senior Learning Designer plays a crucial role in supporting the Subject Matter Experts within the Joint Logistics Command of the Australian Defence Force. They are responsible for designing and developing training and assessment content for a range of Defence training programs through the Defence LMS. With a collaborative and proactive approach, the Senior Learning Designer works closely with the Core Defence Team and instructors to prepare innovative and fit-for-purpose learning activities and resources based on curriculum requirements for contemporary Vocational Education (VE). Their contribution ensures that Defence personnel receive comprehensive and up-to-date training that is aligned with the latest industry standards.
To be successful in this position, you’ll have:
Experience in learning and assessment design, digital pedagogies and educational innovation.
Proven skills and experience in instructional design and the development of HE/VE student-centered learning experiences and resources.
Deep knowledge of digital learning principles and practices, as well as current and future trends in digital learning technologies, including Canvas/Moodle and Microsoft products.
Experience with the production of digital learning resources that include but are not limited to the use of video and multimedia production techniques.
Skilled in the use of authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline and RISE to create courses.
Project management skills in coordinating multiple stakeholders, meeting timeframes, and delivering outcomes.
Excellent communication skills and proven ability to secure the cooperation and engagement of a wide range of people within a complex environment.
Ability to negotiate with and influence stakeholders to enable evidence-based outcomes in learning design.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The Information Design and Data Visualization (IDDV) graduate programs combine analytical methods with visual communication. Graduates gain expertise in the visual and technological languages of data, applying modes of visual cognition and using analytics tools to create interactive, data-driven communications, and installations. These interdisciplinary programs prepare graduates to collaborate across a variety of fields and settings, bridging technology, public communication, and design, as well as to harness visual languages to investigate and communicate relevant issues.
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
The IDDV Part-Time Lecturer will teach introductory and intermediate courses in information design, data visualization, and visual communication history. Other courses could focus on teaching methods and principles to visualize qualitative and quantitative data, visualization technologies, data storytelling, or visual cognition for designers. Additionally, there may be requests to instruct other graduate courses related to these topics as determined by enrollment, funding and departmental needs. Starting Dates: January, and September.
QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will have an MFA or equivalent terminal degree. Have at least two years of successful college teaching experience, or at least five years of professional practice experience in information design or data visualization practices. Candidates should have active careers with current exhibition, publication, or creative practice and course related experience. Candidates must have the ability to effectively engage Northeastern students at course relevant levels of study, whether beginning, intermediate or advanced.

Institute for Pedagogical Innovation, Research & Excellence (InsPIRE) is a collaborative entity within the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) with a mission to unite various entities and foster a culture of excellence in teaching and learning.
InsPIRE is seeking a Research Associate to work with NTU faculty staff in the development of simulations, 3D visualization (such as AR / VR) and computer games for education purposes, particularly for Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths. The incumbent will also work with faculty staff to promote the use of EdTech tools, to develop and conduct education research studies, publications and other administration related to academic matters.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct surveillance of education technology, identifying those that can be used for education purposes, particularly for courses pertaining to disciplines in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths.
Work together with faculty and lead in the development of simulations / 3D visualization that can be incorporated pedagogically into STEM courses.
Development of computer simulations (using Matlab, Solidworks, SIMPHY, COMSOL etc) for education. The focus will be on simulations that can be distributed for student use.
Development of AR / VR / 360 video content for the purposes of teaching and learning

Conduct simple studies on the effectiveness of technology on learning

About You
The Learning & Teaching Support Senior Officer serves as a pivotal link between students, faculty, and administrative units within the college, ensuring the seamless delivery of academic programs and support services. This role requires a blend of administrative acumen, academic expertise, and a commitment to fostering a supportive learning environment. This role will collaborate closely with various stakeholders to ensure program review, development, renewal, and amendment activities relating to new program or course proposals, as well as change in programs and course information and course guides are correct and complete at key publishing milestones. In addition, you will assist with events and in the delivery of enrichment activities including orientation, club and society support, administration, and other co-curricular activities, as well support for Student Staff Consultative Committees.
To be successful in this position, you’ll have:
Demonstrated highly developed interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills and the proven ability to liaise effectively with a wide range of management, staff and external parties on complex, sensitive and confidential issues. Ability to convey information to students from a wide range of cultural backgrounds.
Excellent planning, organisation and project management skills.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively, flexibly, and collaboratively with colleagues within and beyond the immediate work unit, contributing to the achievement of team goals.
Proven ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, and systems consistently, provide advice and to drive creative solutions through to implementation within the immediate work area.
Proven ability to work independently as well as part of a team, use initiative and prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a demanding environment with excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality assurance.
A high order of analytical and problem-solving skills and the demonstrated ability to develop and implement innovative and creative solutions as well as to manage complex issues. Ability to write reports.
Demonstrated experience in the development and implementation of quality and continuous improvement processes and systems.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the tertiary education sector.
Excellent IT skills, including intermediate to advanced Excel. Contemporary knowledge of digital and online technologies.
