Looking to take the next step in your career? Hatch is currently seeking a highly motivated Piping Engineering Technologist to join our Project Delivery Group (PDG) in Brisbane.
As the successful candidate, you will:
- Understand the owner/user requirements and the project mission
- Identifies, selects and applies appropriate materials, components, systems, processes, resources, plant and equipment relevant to the piping discipline.
- Understand pipe stress modelling, and its application to the discipline and importance in layout.
- Define, monitor and verify vendor acceptance testing of key packages
- Monitor and test all design systems to ensure all systems appropriately support the design standards/criteria for all disciplines. Assist with resolution of any issues
- Ensure management are aware of risks associated with any systems and design assumptions and develop testing programs that will assist in mitigating these identified risks
- Participate in design reviews for each plant area with a focus on ensuring design development incorporates data collected through tests
- Application of the quality management systems, tools and processes within the organisation.
- Ensure continuous coordination between the functional groups as design develops
- Participate in project reviews as required for design, operability, maintainability, constructability and HAZOP etc.
You bring to the role:
- Minimum seven years experience on major projects in a multidisciplinary team environment, with experience across all phases of project development including design development, procurement and vendor acceptance testing, execution and commissioning
- The position requires a professional or an individual with significant technical experience having a strong technical background in similar facilities
- Functional knowledge of all project discipline systems, design and reporting processes
- Good working knowledge of design review and reporting technologies used for the project
- Overall understanding of maintainability, constructability, procurement, commissioning, safety and operating issues
- Experience with hazard identification and risk management practices.
- Good understanding of interdisciplinary dependencies in a project environment
- Strong leadership and coordination skills
- Well developed communication, negotiation and interpersonal and organizational skills
