Job Description:
Airbus Commercial Aircraft is looking for a Sr. Technical Accounting Manager to join our Accounting department based in Herndon, VA.
You will be in charge of compliance of Accounting policies with US GAAP, IFRS and Airbus Group Accounting guidelines for Airbus Americas Inc and its subsidiaries in the North America Region including fourteen legal entities throughout the Commercial, Helicopter and Defense and Space Divisions.

Your challenges:
- Serves as a Technical Advisor Services on sophisticated accounting topics requiring Company policy or US GAAP and IFRS interpretation (e.g. unique, new, or non-standard events; analyzing business acquisitions, divestitures, new ventures..),
- Monitors emerging accounting guidance or trends, whether US GAAP, IFRS, or Airbus Group policy, to assess and communicate potential implications to appropriate partners in particular in sustainability,
- Facilitate and drive process standardization and optimization across US entities and lead the Accounting Forum for the Region. In this capacity, the job holder will be responsible for ensuring that the curriculum of the One Roof Accounting team is up to date and will coordinate with External Auditors any informational programs as needed
- Actively participate in monthly and quarterly close activities including reconciliations to support compliance and internal controls,
- Support monthly close by working closely with the controlling team and advice on corrections to ensure timelines are met and provide support as needed,
- Support the accounting manager and staff, controlling and tax department on regular activities and exceptional: Annual audit, transfer pricing study, tax PBC, valuation studies, etc.)
- Contribute and lead the ESG reporting requirements and capabilities,
- Participate in department projects and/or cross-departmental projects
- Act as a team member of the US One Roof Accounting Services and ensures full coordination with the Integrated Functions and Compliance manager as well as the One Roof and Reporting Manager.
- Ensures full alignment on Accounting methodology applied within the Group,
- Ensure implementation of SAP system improvements and other financial tools that enhance operational efficiency for Asset Management
Your boarding pass:
- Master or equivalent in Business Administration, candidates with bachelor’s (undergraduate) degrees and a CPA license (or European equivalent) will also be considered
- Strong understanding of US GAAP and IFRS,
- Additional accounting, financial studies preferred such as CPA,
- Good knowledge of Accounting systems,
- 10 to 15 years or more of experience in External Audit firms, Accounting departments in a commercial or industrial environment involving fast timelines.
- Up to 10% domestic and International travel per year
