The postholder is required to work on a variety of environment service tasks including street sweeping, refuse collection, waste disposal and grounds maintenance duties, though your primary work is street sweeping. The day-to-day operation of the post holders allocated vehicle. Independently operating a Hako Pedestrian Sweeper as requested by line manager,

You must be able to carry out the physical demands of the post and be able to communicate effectively with team members and the public.

The Communities Service operates new ways of working which is a variable shift system. This is SS Shift B, Week 1 Thurs - Mon, Week 2 Thurs - Fri.

A Driving licence is essential.

The Individual

To be successful, you must hold a current Driving Licence.

You will be aware of Road Transport Regulations, you will be able to carry out the physical demands of the job, and as a representative of the Council, you will have the ability to communicate effectively with members of the public as well as colleagues.

You will bring a positive energy; have the ability to work well as part of a team. You will be aware of Health & Safety legislation, you will have effective visual skills with the ability to ensure the safety of other road users and pedestrians, you will have the ability to carry out vehicle inspections, ensuring that your vehicle is safe to drive and meets all legal requirements. You will have the ability to operate and to navigate in and around the Perth & Kinross area.

To follow through and comply with The Environment Service safe systems of work for Street sweeping (copies available on request).

Completion of relevant daily paperwork.

You are required to be available to work on a standby basis working additional hours outside normal working hours, including weekdays and weekends.

As a Pupil Support Assistant (PSA), you will work as part of a team supporting children and young people who have additional support needs to access learning under the direction of other members of the team.

Children and Young People can have a range of needs that are short lived or more long term. These at different points in their education may require additional support. The PSA role is varied and may include supporting children and young people who present with needs which may include:

• Social and Emotional
• Learning
• Communication
• Physical
• Personal Care

Some children may present with distressed and challenging behaviour as a result of these needs The PSA may have a role in supporting positive behaviour management programmes and individual support plans.

You will be working in a variety of settings as some work may be nursery or school based whilst other supports may involve activities in the community e.g. horse riding or outdoor learning. As part of the school team you will support lunchtimes and playtimes.

We are looking for individuals who can demonstrate:

Perth & Kinross Council is looking for additional Visitor Rangers who can make a real difference to the lives of the communities most impacted by the increase in visitor numbers. These posts are on a casual contract with most demand in summer 2024.

This role involves taking part in regular multi-agency motorised patrol rota around rural visitor hotspots to engage with visitors and provide guidance on responsible access, which may require diplomacy and decisiveness.

The successful post-holders will support local landowners and communities impacted by additional visitors and promote responsible behaviours compliant with Scottish Outdoor Access Code.

In this varied role the ranger will often be the first point of contact for the visitors as well as the residents thus will represent Perth & Kinross Council.

Work is primarily outdoors and will require regular driving through countryside across Perth & Kinross.

Rangers will be required to perform simple maintenance tasks. Relevant training, uniform and access to liveried vehicle will be provided.

LGV Driver, Refuse Collection, Kinross - PKC10900 £25,508 - £27,874 Turfhills Depot, Kinross KY13 7NU Perth & Kinross Council aims to provide the residents of Perth & Kinross area with a reliable refuse collection service. As a Refuse Collection Driver, you will provide an invaluable service to the residents of the Perth & Kinross area, ensuring that their refuse is collected on a regular basis. Your role will require you to collect waste and load it into a refuse collection vehicle on a specified route, you will uplift various types of waste and any other tasks required by the service. You will be required to comply with the safe systems of work for refuse collection. This role operates on a shift pattern and the contracted shift pattern for this post is Friday-Monday (36hrs). In order to comply with all Road Transport Regulations and to provide a continuous service 7 days a week you will be required to work at weekends. You will also be expected to be available to work on a standby basis, which will include working outside of your normal hours and being part of a standby rota. Works covered on standby, are usually planned in advance but may also be unforeseeable and therefore, you may be required to be available at short notice. This is an opportunity for you to provide a vital service to the community by ensuring that all waste is removed leaving a clean and tidy environment. You will have contact with members of the public and will act as a representative of the Council. Do you have a Cat C driving licence and a valid CPC and Digi Card? If the answer is yes, this could be the job for you.

Perth & Kinross Council aims to work with the residents of the Perth & Kinross area to reduce the volume of waste going to landfill and offer recycling opportunities wherever possible.

As a LGV Driver you will provide an invaluable service to the residents of the area, ensuring that household waste is collected on a regular basis and taken to the appropriate locations.

Your role will be to drive/operate any waste ejections/containment vehicles, e.g. refuse collection vehicles. You will collect and various types of waste and recycling materials associated with the kerb side collection schemes, recycling centres and recycling points. Compliance with Housing & Environment safe system of work for Waste Disposal and Refuse Collection is essential (copies available on request).

In order to comply with Road Transport Regulations and to provide a continuous service over 7 days, shift patterns are in place. The shift pattern available is Friday to Monday 36 Hours in Kinross, Pitlochry and Perth areas.

You will also be included in the standby rota and will be available to work additional hours, outside normal working hours. Some works are planned in advance but some may be unforeseen, in which case short term availability may be required at short notice.
