An opportunity exists for financial services tax consultants / lawyers to join our growing Deloitte Singapore financial services tax advisory and compliance practice. Our team is diverse and includes accountants, lawyers and economists. Our team members have broad experience, which includes law firm and / or in-house corporate tax experience. A number of the team have worked in other markets (such as Australia, Hong Kong, Malaysia, the UK and the US). We strive to learn from each other and leverage our respective experiences.

Responsibilities will include preparation of tax computations, assisting with tax research, assisting with the preparation of tax advice, preparation of proposals and presentations, and assisting with business development.

In support of subscribing advisors and their high-wealth clients, the Senior Tax Planner, High-Net-Worth Services will be a dedicated resource supporting the delivery of Tax Plans. Acting in a specialist capacity, the Senior Tax Planner will tax input and analysis in tax planning software, conduct tax research, collaborate with High-Net-Worth Services colleagues and advisors on plan design, create plan summaries, and help prepare advisors to present the plan to their clients.
Responsibilities:
Review clients’ past tax returns during the financial planning process to identify incremental opportunities.
Collect, analyze data, and provide strategies for consideration.
Responsible for ensuring that all tax-related research and data gathering is complete and creating the deliverables (“Tax Plan”) and presenting them to advisors and in some cases end-clients.
Research ad-hoc tax planning questions as necessary to further support our advisors and their clients.
Demonstrate an understanding of increasingly complex personal and business financial planning concepts and stay informed of current financial planning developments and tax law changes.
Educate advisors on updates to tax code/regulations and act as a subject matter expert on tax planning and potential tax law changes.

Software experience:
